Has anyone had recurrent MISSED miscarriages?

I'm pregnant again after three mmcs, although I have got one DD conceived after my first mmc, so I know I'm very lucky. Not had any tests done as I've not had three mc in a row.

I'm 5+3 and have had some spotting last night (not much, but all my prior mcs needed ERPC and I only spotted each time) so I'm worrying about another mc and wondered if anyone with recurrent missed miscarriages has been tested and found any cause?

I am driving myself mad wondering if there is anything I can do this time to help this pregnancy. I'm already caffeine/alcohol-free, doing a healthy diet, taking ante-natal vitamins etc.

Obviously if the bleeding gets any worse or I have any pain, I will go to the GP, but I know there is no point in having a scan just yet. In the meantime if anyone has any advice I would be grateful. Thanks!

i have kind of.

my first i had spotting and went for a scan to find the baby had died. i could have waited i suppose to see if it happened naturally but i had erpc. don't know if you class that as missed.

second time was found at the 20 week scan and baby had died at 16/17 weeks so that was mmc.

third time was discovered at 8 week scan. 6 week scan was ok but i had been spotting since af was due. i would say this was mmc as well.

i asked about mmc at hospital as i have loads of tests etc and they said sometimes it just happens that way. the nurse last time told me in the olden days (before scans) women died from mmc as they get infected and didn't know they had mc'd - thats a cheery thought Hmm

i don't think mmc means anything in particular. i like to think at least our bodies want to hold onto the pg.

Thanks peb and sorry about your losses. Yes, I often think we're 'lucky' in that this can be spotted and treated before something worse happens.

I had two missed miscarriages no spotting, bleeding, everything seemed normal. Both between 8 and 9 weeks. The first was coming up to 6 years ago, the 2nd was 4 years ago come august. I now have a son who is 2 in a couple of weeks. The worst thing is even when tests are done they can't always say what the cause was. That's the hardest part. I asked all the questions cos I was scared stupid that I would have mmc. I was lucky I didn't. But it is part of the reason I won't have any more. Along with other things. I was 17 almost 18 with my first mmc, and 20 just turned with ny 2nd.

I really hope all is ok for you.
