Still bleeding 8 days after ERPC

Hi - I had an early scan last week at 9+4 to be told that there was no heartbeat (measured 9+2). Was lucky to be booked in for an ERPC the next day as I couldn't bear to let things happen naturally. I was told that I could bleed for up to 3 weeks, but after 3 days things had pretty much stopped. However, since then the bleeding has stopped and started and gone from red to brown and back again (though not bright red). 8 days in, I thought things would slowly tail off but there doesn't seem to be any pattern.
Has anyone any experience with this? I'm going to ring the EPU in the morning anyway but wondered if anyone out there could tell me if this is normal (or otherwise). I have no pain at all, the cramping had stopped by about 24 hours later.

Hi Jessie, sorry you are going through this. I had a mmc and subsequent erpc in December and bled with no pattern for 10 days. Sometimes thinking it had finished then other days it being heavier again.
I the had a normal period 37 days after the op and then my periods returned exactly to their 33 day pattern. I think what you are experiencing is normal and I'm sure things will settle down soon for you.

Just be kind to yourself and rest up if you can. Xx

Thanks Dinosaur, I'm glad to hear it's (probably) normal. I haven't had a chance to rest at all really, and I guess I'm worried that I'm hindering the recovery process as well. Also haven't got my head around it, but that's another story!
