Blood clotting issues causing MC- advice please

Can anyone give me experience / advice about this please?

I am being given the standard clotting tests after a late MC as the PM suggested probably due to this issue. However, i've read a lot on these threads about people whose tests come back fine, go on to lose again, have more indepth/ different clotting tests which then find something. I asked the consultant about it and he said 'those tests are done for recurrent miscarriages, we aren't there yet' which kind of sounded like 'we'll give you half the tests, and if you lose again, we'll give you the other half'

Should i be pushing for more tests, if so what? can you have them done privately? Can my gp refer me to a specialist? if so what sort? should i just trust the consultants tests as being enough? Do i need to calm down about this?

Any experience/ advice gratefully received.

Do you know exactly what you are being tested for at the moment? I would say have the tests done that have been recommended, and if nothing comes back then push for more tests, although I don't know what they would be. I imagine what they will test for first is antiphospholipid syndrome as this is the more likely cause of a late MC. Some other tests are not available as standard on the NHS and there are miscarriage specialists that will do them privately. The people on the recurrent miscarriage thread are the most likely to know stuff about private treatments. But have the basic tests first and see how that turns out.

Sorry about your loss and I hope you have a healthy pregnancy very soon.
