HCG Levels dropping

Hi,
I could really do with some advice please.
I am 7 weeks 5 days pregnant. Had some light pink discharge over a week and a half ago Was sent to EPU for an ultra sound. They found a sac measuring 8mm but no foetus or heartbeat. Having another scan tomorrow to reinvestigate.
I have been having bloods done at my surgery, my first hgc level last Thursday was 4600. Had another blood test yesterday 4 days after first and my levels have dropped by 300.
Should I just prepare for the worse and expect a miscarriage soon?
I had a miscarriage at 6 weeks 4 days just before Christmas last year.
I still feel pregnant, I even look it and cannot fit my clothes any more.

I am really sorry but it doesn't sound good, as far as I know HGC levels should double every couple of days.

OP, sadly I think you are right to prep for the worst

As I understand it, there should have a been a rise in hcg, and ideally a doubling every 48-72 hrs at this stage.

I am keeping my fingers crossed that we are wrong and you will get some good news though. And sending a (((hug)))
