Just wondering if any of you had the same problems after the operation??

I bled heavily after the op and i assumed that was normal, it stopped, then clots happened then stopped again.

Had AF after seeing GP for bloods etc and all fine, now 2 days after AF finished have started bleeding again, very sporadic and strange one day brown one day red?????

I am very frustrated and can't call the doctor til next week as she is on leave!!!

Any help apppreciated.

There must be another doctor you can see?
I would perhaps call the EPAU where you were treated and see what their advice is. It might just be that your cycle is taking a while to settle down. Did the bloods show negative for Hcg?

i'm on the other thread with you. I had my ERPC 5 weeks ago yesterday - i was almost 12 weeks along with a MMC . I've had endless problems that i've talked about but to recap. Not much bleeding after ERPC, after 3 days turned brown and continued to spot/bleed brown blood until day 20 when i finally got a negative pregnancy test. No bleeding that day, after sex that night a big bright red bleed started which continued for 3 days, this was 3 weeks after erpc. As the blood was so different i assumed it was my AF - (it can come before 4 weeks). After that i've spotted on and off, i'm having maybe 2 days of no bleeding then i day back on. I've been to see two different GPs about it. The first put me on antibiotics as i'd been bleeding for 3 weeks non-stop, though there was no sign of infection. she mentioned hormonal treatment to stop bleed if i wanted that and booked me in for a scan. EPU then told me to do pregnancy test and if negative not to go in for a scan, they said it would be something else and not retained products. So back to second GP, she took swabs which we both expected to come back clear (they have) and looked at my cervix- which i was getting really worried about- she said it looked very healthy. She said the hormone treatment would stop the bleeding but it would start again as soon as i went off it. As my bleeding is slight there is no point in me doing that. This GP was a registrar so not as experienced.
The emotional impact of this has been huge. Not only have i the grief to deal with but now my body feels like its not my own. I'm finding it very hard to deal with. Gps are very nice and reassuring but to them its still very early days for me and nothing to get concerned about, to me it feels like time is dragging badly. Ovulation tests are currently registering nothing at all. No second line which is upsetting me even more. The one glimmer of hope is that I had a second session of acupuncture on wednesday and she focused on stopping the bleeding and regulating my periods. Today is the start of my 4th day without bleeding/spotting. The longest so far in over 6 weeks . I have some very lightly tinged brown mucus but nothing more. If i could afford it i'd go back next week .
I'm sorry this is so long and indulgent but its mainly to show i do share your frustration . I wasn't told to expect this so its even worse. Do see your GP again, to know it can be normal for some women to have continued bleeding is reassuring (though still frustrating) and there may be things they can offer you to help that weren't right for me. I'd really like to hear back on what they said. I'm not not even convinced the period i thought i had was one.

i forgot to say GPs said its most likely just my hormones taking their time to settle down.

Sorry to hear you're going through this - it is so frustrating as you just want everything to get back to normal. My cycle took a while to sort itself out after my erpc. I bled after the op which I think is normal then it stopped and I got brown discharge which seemed to stop and start for months. I eventualy went to see a private doctor (as got fed up with GP!) who gave me progesterone (maybe the hormone treatment blackcats mentioned?) and I took this for 7 days (I think) then stopped and had a normal period. I then conceived my DD on the next cycle so it definitely sorted my hormone levels out. The dr said that my body was trying to have a proper period but just couldn't manage it so the progesterone helped it out. That was just my experience but might be worth a try. Otherwise it might be worth getting rescanned just to check there's no infection or anything like that?

Thanks a lot ladies,

I definitely had a proper period on 19th Feb after erpc on 18th jan so roughly 4 weeks after, that lasted for 9 days and then stopped for 2 and i've been bleeding on and off since.

I know you share my frustration and i'm so glad there are other women to talk to on here, however bad the circumstances.

I'll push on with gp again next week when she is back xx
