Hi

Thought I would start a new thread as this is a different question and you have all been so helpful on my other thread.

So, I was 7 weeks pregnant, started lightly bleeding on Thursday, heavier bleed on Friday with clots and something 'plopping' into the toilet and have been bleeding ever since. However, this afternoon I have been much heavier (had to change my always nighttime full absorbancy pad twice in 2 hours) and passing clots again. I have also started cramping a bit.

I have a scan (arranged on Thursday!) on Tuesday, should I just wait until then or do I need to go to hospital earlier? My dr said if the bleeding got worse than Friday morning then phone the out of hours dr and get referred to the hospital but, with my chest infection too, I have been to the drs each day this week and can't be bothered if they just say to come back on Tuesday. (Each trip was to a different dr who didin't really have time and just said there is nothing they can do!)

How long should I expect to bleed? The dr said 2-3 weeks is normal but what kind of consistency? Is it all pretty heavy?

What should I expect at the scan? I guess they will say there is no baby and check whether there is anything left in there but what if there is?

Thanks. )I have read the Mumsnet Overview but it didn't answer all my questions)

I'm so sorry to hear you're going through this. I have had two MCs at a similar point in pregnancy and was told that if the bleeding soaked a pad full once per hour or more often, then I should go to A&E. It sounds like that's what is going on so you would be best getting checked out. Shocking that they can't scan you til Tuesday as well, though similar to my experience too. Do get yourself to a medic, better safe than sorry. Then 2-3 weeks of lighter bleeding is about normal apparently (though actually I had more like 9-10 days each time).
Best of luck with recovering and getting on with the next round of TTC, when and if you feel ready.

Hi Clementine

Thanks for the message and sorry you are going through this as well. I didn't go in the end - I have a chest infection too and have been to the dr's for either that or the bleeding almost every day this week and nothing has really happened, except an increase in my dosage of antibiotics and codeine for a shoulder pain I have (from coughing so much I think).

I didn't bleed much overnight but have started again today. All I have been told all the way along is that there is nothing anyone can do and I just have to wait for the scan tomorrow. I can't face sitting in more waiting rooms!

Thankfully I have some good friends and my husband is home to look after me and my ds.

Thanks again.

I'm so sorry ladies to hear that you are both suffering this, it is horrible. Look after yourselves.
