miscarriage and shoulder blade pain

Hi

I had a niscarriage at 8 weeks yesterday, 8 am fairly certain, can't get a scan until next week.

I have had a terrible chest infection and was also prescribed antibiotics.

I had some light cramping with the bleeding but yesterday had a pain in my right houlder blade which this morning has gone all the way through to my front. I am assuming that I have just pulled a muscle from coughing but thought I had better check on here in case it is something that needs sorting.. i would prefer not to go back to the GP "just because" because I seem to have spent all week there!

Thanks for any advice

You need to go to A&e it could be an ectopic pregnancy. It's an emergency so please go now.

But it's not the tip of my shoulder but the shoulder blade right through to my boob. Do you still think it could be that?

Chest pain is not something to mess around with. One of my fit, healthy twenty something friends nearly died of pneumonia after ignoring chest pains about six months ago - you'll be wasting a lot more time /resources for the NHS if you get bluelighted into intensive care like she did.

OK, thanks.

Let us know how you get on won't you? Better to be checked out and get the all clear at the end of the day.

Yes go to a&e please ASAP. It sounds like a possible ectopic. So, so sorry xx

I think I miscarried yesterday though. Something 'plopped' into the toilet while I was going to the toilet. Could that still be ectopic?

I think I would stop trying to second guess it and go to a doctor / A&E, in situations like that, time is of the essence so no point in taking any chances umming and Ahh ing

Hi all. Just thought I would report back. I made an appointment with the out of hours drs. It is nothing to do with the pregnancy he doesn't think but has upped my antibiotics and given me codeine to help with the pain.

Randomly he told me to be on the lookout for a rash - shingles!

Thanks for the push, girls x

So sorry, BBC, expected or not, horrible situation for you :(

Grumpla · 18/02/2012 18:29

Glad you got it checked out and I hope things go well for you at the scan. Fingers crossed.

BBC4lover · 21/02/2012 20:31

Hi All.

Nothing found at the scan except the remnants of the miscarriage and a cyst on my ovary (which they think was to do with the pregnancy and nothing sinister).

Thanks for all your support
