Expectant / conservative management - a positive story

I just wanted to add a positive story to this board for anyone who's suffered a missed miscarriage and is still going through the horrible process of it all. For once, it's a positive update on some earlier threads. On the 11th December, when I thought I was 8 weeks pregnant, I started bleeding. I had a scan a few days later and was told that I measured for 5 weeks then, so I knew it was all over. I went back a week later, and despite having horrible bleeds and some painful cramping, the sac was still in place and I was told that it would all "come out in a gush". Not what you want to hear just before Christmas really. Anyway, having no confidence in the hospital I went to (long story) I decided to stay with the conservative management and just wait to see what happened.
Not much did. A little more bleeding, light cramps, a small clot and then I went back to the hospital today, thinking they'd admit me for a ERPC / medical management but somehow, it had all passed. Negative pregnancy test and a scan to see that everything had gone, and that my uterus was totally back to normal.
I know things work out differently for everyone but I wanted to add my story to all the others - it can work out okay. Not okay okay, I've had a horrible time and I'm gutted of course. But at least now we can move on.
I'm leaving this board now, but if you're reading this and going through a MMC, know that it's not always physically traumatic. And if you want to PM me, please do. I'm happy to talk to you, I know how horrible this is.
All the best to you all and thank you to everyone who supported me.

I wish you all a happier and healthier 2012. Good luck. xxx
