two very early MCs while still BF - luteal phase?

hello
I'm just having a second very early miscarriage at 5 weeks; I also had one 5 weeks ago at the same stage. (I am upset, but not heartbroken as I had an mmc at 14 weeks many years ago which was handled very badly and really messed me up: I feel it could be a lot worse). I am heartened by the fact I managed to conceive at all, and twice in a row in particular indicates that at least something is working.

I am still BF my one year old and not intending to stop any time soon, and have been reading about luteal phase defects - which seems to fit what has happened to me perfectly. So, what I'd like to know is:
Do luteal phase defects caused by BF/periods getting back into synch correct themselves - or should I go and see the doctor and ask for progesterone before trying again?
Is this now considered conventional wisdom - or is my doctor going to roll her eyes at me... and if it is, would I need to be charting to test further - as I'm not really sure where to start with that!

Apologies for the long post: any thoughts at all if you've been in a similar situation would also be very much appreciated.

hi there, sorry for your losses. I don't have any answers I'm afraid, but am marking my place as I'm interested in the answer. My luteal phase is a bit short and I'm wondering about my progesterone levels after a mmc (10 wks).
