Miscarriage number 3 - pregnancy never developed

Just feeling generally CRAP!! 1st miscarriage was only about 5 weeks and all came out on its own. 2nd was 12 weeks when it had stopped growing, and i opted for medical management. But this pregnancy never developed. Have been bleeding on and off throughout the pregnancy, and the scans only showed a sac and yolk. Went for a scan today, the yolk had gone, and the bright ring around the sac was no longer there. So nurse has confirmed the miscarriage. Was wondering how common this is..? Any experiences however graphical would be helpful. Helps me to know I'm not broken, and it happens to other's too.

Hi - I've just had some EPA scans, and expected the baby to be 10 weeks, but was told there was just a sac - what would be expected at 4 or 5 weeks. It just stopped growing, and in fact had got smaller between the scans. I don't know much about it medically I'm afraid. I think it's known as a missed miscarriage. Rubbish, isn't it?! x

Hi. I had this - started spotting at 7 weeks, scan at 8 weeks, which showed that there was a growth sac and yolk but no embryo, and it had all stopped at 6 weeks gestation. I was told it was an anembryonic pregnancy - used to be called a blighted ovum. It's definitely rubbish though, whatever they call it.

I think its relatively common, and just a case of duff sperm and/or duff egg. If it helps, I got pg again almost immediately (made sure I had one normal period after the ERPC) and I'm now 7 weeks.

Yes, sounds as though it's the same thing as both of you. So annoying when you get all the symptoms of a normal pregnancy aswell. Both me and my partner got our hopes up again. Thank you so much for the reassurance though. And knowing it's pretty common is comforting too. Thanks
