Having severe cramping and back pain, pressure pains in my bum and have had a lot of tan/pinkish discharge with some reddish streaks.

The pain is really quite severe, I am typing this lying down and it is coming across me in waves.. can't quite localise if it is my hips/pelvis/periody/back, it is just very very painful.

I had a scan at what should have been 6+5 and showed foetus of 5+4 so at least I know it's not ectopic and have been worrying this might happen as was sure of dates.

Have EPU appointment tomorrow, what will happen if this is the end?

Hi working9while5 how did your EPU appointment go? I hope everything was ok.

Hi sorry

I've posted my story so liberally over the web Blush I hadn't updated here...

Ended up going to A and E as pain became truly, truly overwhelming to the point I could barely move. Had to call partner to come and get me. Got to the hospital and things were not funny, I was in so much agony I literally couldn't stand up, had to go on all fours and was in severe, severe pain. The staff literally came out to get me off the floor in A and E and I had to crawl onto the trolley on my knees. The consultant said that it was obvious I was pregnant as it's the only thing that causes women to go on their knees like that... they were concerned maybe I had a missed ectopic, that there had been a bean growing too close to the tubes to be seen in the last scan, so they did bloods etc. They gave me an IV drip of paracetamol because I was in so much pain and told me straight out that with the pain I was in it was going to be a missed ectopic or the beginning of a miscarriage, and they would send me up to Gynae ward for next steps.

I was pretty calm about it because I was literally in THAT much pain that I just wanted it to stop, dh was very shaken though, he thought I had just slipped a disc or something!

A few nurses came in to talk us through the process, explain m/c etc and were all lovely. Anyway, we went up for the scan after a bit and they found a pregnancy sac on the abdominal but no bean, which was what we were expecting. They decided they wanted to do a transvaginal "to be sure".... and guess what? There was our bean, 9 weeks and 4 days and with a little heartbeat. Not a bother on it.

I thought dh might die of shock! I burst into tears and was very shocked too... So great news, but of course they have NO CLUE what caused the pain, no sign of UTI or anything like that, it may be an injury from the birth that is being retriggered by the womb going up into the abdomen/ligaments stretching but I have been advised to take regular paracetamol at maximum dose for the next 48 hours and rest, and see what happens. I have never had pain like it so I am a bit bewildered as to what the HELL my body thought it was doing but very relieved to see the little hb. Still having a fair bit of pain but no more spotting and feel a lot calmer, which helps.

Thanks for asking.. hope it was just one of those things and not something that will reoccur as it was worse than labour and really scary!

Wow what a story Shock

Firstly, congratulations on your healthy little stowaway! :)

Sorry you're still in pain and they don't know why. Hope it eases off, pregnancy is usually hideous enough without added complications Wink

Aw thank god it turned out better than expected :)
