Hi

just needing some advice really, i am/was 10 weeks pregnant and started to bleed, i was referred to womens health unit fri afternoon for emergency scan and sac was 10 weeks but baby stopped developing at 6 weeks. i have started to bleed like a period really and get occasional cramps like period pains. Apart from the shock anyway does this mean nature is taking its course? Am going back in two weeks for another scan but the bleeding is a bit hit and miss seems to be getting heavy then slows down again. just wondered if this was all normal. If not thinking of opting for surgical management get it all over and done with. Feeling quite scared and numb at the same time.

Jo, so sorry to hear you are going through this.

Yes the bleeding sounds normal but horrid, do you ave someone with you to wrap you up in the duvet and bring you drinks?

chezziejo · 06/11/2011 08:53

No. My Boyfriend couldnt get time off work as they wouldnt let him as no one wants to work weekends, he looks awful poor sod, worrying at work is awful for him too. Got the dog and my 16 month old to keep me going. Mum coming over later. Im ok when someones here, just being a bit mardy i think. The hospital were pretty good, just need reassurance i think. Dread going to the loo to see the blood.

Thanks for reply, makes me feel a bit better its all normal.

Jo

Has she arrived yet?

Hope the bleeding is easy during the day, but my experience that the bleeding is worse when I was busy and moving and less over night.

How is the pain? Paracetomol every four hours (no more than 8 tablets in the day) helped me

Morning eaglewings.

Mum never made it. Suddenly it was like a tap turned on and I was pouring blood and clots. Bf abandoned work and went straight to whu at hospital. I didn't realise it was open 7 days a week. It was so severe they were gearing up for transfusion but dr managed to clear it out and bleeding slowed right down. Let me home after 6 hours and going back today for scan and surgery if not cleared. I was so frightened, I left a trail of blood down hospital corridors that had seeped through my jeans and pad. Anyway I'm better now I hope and praying dr did clear it all.

Chezziejo I'm so sorry for what you've been through. It sounds absolutely awful but with so much bleeding sounds like you might have cleared it all. Fingers crossed for your scan today.

I found out on Saturday that our baby had no heartbeat. I was meant to be 11 weeks but looks like baby stopped developing at 8 or 9 weeks. It was a terrible shock, our first pregnancy and hit us hard.

I passed a lot naturally on Sunday including the sac, sorry if TMI. I went back to hopsital and they confirmed that most has passed. I've got to go back in 10 days now to see if everything has gone. Bleeding now like a period rather than the very heavy bleeding I had yesterday.

On one hand I'd like to try again quite soon as we so want to start a family, on the other hand it's scary to think about potentially having to go through all this again. Heartening to hear that many people have an mc and then go on to have successful pregnancies.

eaglewings · 07/11/2011 09:59

Chezz, how awful for you, pray that it is all over and they give you the all clear today. Make sure you are looked after this time!
Squid, it's hard to think of trying again, we just have to keep in mind that 3 out of 4 preganacies do not end in mc.

chezziejo · 07/11/2011 10:18

Thanks you two. Still bleeding and a bit crampy but steady now. My bf has stayed off work today. He said no way wAs he leaving me on my own again like that. They didn't argue. Hope your ok too squidink it is an awful experience. I have a 16 month old little boy, and after yesterday no desire to try again at present.

Evening all I was just wondering if it's normal to feel uncomfortable with little pains. I'm ok stood up but when I go to sit down it's quite uncomfortable, it passes once sat but just the doing of it, like a strong ache. I'm whittling I know but was so scared after sun every little thing puts me on edge.

Hia All

Just wanted to say to you all i'm sorry your going through this i've been there unfortunatley several times now, it's not nice I agree. Don't mean to scare or upset as most people go on to have healthy babies:)

I've had a mmc at 11 weeks (had a d n c but was incomplete and was in a hell of a lot of pain afterwards) and natural mc's at 5,6, and 7 weeks all were different the one at 7 weeks (this September) was a lot more painful than 5 and 6 weeks (maybe cos of size) with contractions, big clots and bled a hell of a lot. I was also very sore for weeks afterwards.

Chezziejo it's maybe your body telling you to rest and put your feet up hun if it's better when you sit or lye down I was the same, try a hot water bottle lots of tea and chocolate!

Look after yourselves
