Miscarried seven weeks ago - still bleeding

I have three children aged 12 down to three, and miscarried for the first time seven weeks ago. I miscarried naturally and when I went back to the mat unit for a scan two weeks later I was told that everything had shifted and there was about a week's worth of blood left to come away. I was told that if i was still bleeding after another fortnight I should ring the mat unit and book another scan. Three weeks later, I rang the mat uni to get some advice, only to be told that it wan't really anything to do with them and should contact my GP. I did that (same day) and spent approximately 3 minutes in there before the GP bustled me out, saying that it was probably nothing to worry about. I am now at seven weeks of bleeding and there seems to be no end in sight. Has anyone else had this kind of experience, and do you think I should be worrying?

Yes, I have and yes you should insist on a referral, especially if you are cramping as well. I had an incomplete miscarriage and an infection and needed a d&c and antibiotics.

I am completely disgusted by your treatment. Go back to the GP and DO NOT leave until you have a referral to EPU.

This happened to me, although I was seen to and I had a very very small piece of placenta which was retained and causing ongoing bleeding. I had to have another op. Have you done a pregnancy test to see if you are still testing positive?
