Miscarriage after IVF

Please help, I had my egg collection on 25 March and on Tuesday I went to the clinic for a scan, should have been 7 and a half weeks pregnant. The doctor saw one empty sac and the other sac had a 2.9mm fetal pole but no heartbeat :-( Had my HCG level on Tuesday and it was 51,800 today it is only 51,200. What does this all mean?

So sorry your going through this. Have they booked you in for a follow up scan? Are they going to re-test your HCG to see whether it's still falling? I'm no expert but it doesn't sound positive , as by 7.5 weeks a heartbeat should be visible and HCG should still be rising. I had my son via IVF/ICSI and the dates are bang on usually, because of the precise timings involved. Have you tried looking Fertility Friends - the ladies on there on such experts on all things assisted conception.

I've also had a miscarriage at 7 weeks recently (a miracle natural conception that wasn't to be ) so I know how horrible the waiting stage is.
