Positive test 6 weeks after erpc but now bleeding??

Can anyone help? I had a MMC at 11 weeks, didnt develop past 6 weeks but body held on. Had an ERPC 6 weeks ago and then started having pregnancy symptoms. Have done 5 tests all showed BFP, even did one again today! Booked an appointment with the doctor this morning and he just requested a urine sample. Then have just started bleeding (brown blood) - can anyone help as I have no idea what is going on with my body???

Hi Silverangel, I never did a test after ERPC until I started having pregnancy symptoms again so not sure if its just body still creating hormones???

What about a scan? Can you not have one done at the EPU to put your mind at rest?

Bleeding now getting heavier so will take sample to doctors in the morning and contact EPU to see what they say. This is doing my head in! Almost like going through the whole MC again. Thanks both for your support

So sorry you have had to go through all this Confused. I presume from what you've posted that there's no chance you could be pregnant with a new pregnancy? What symptoms are you getting?

Your body can do strange things for a while after a mc but a scan does sound like a good idea to make sure there is nothing left over from the ERPC that could still be producing a BFP. I hope your EPU are helpful. Let us know how you get on.

Confused - It could be that there were retained products after the ERPC and they're coming away by themselves. This happened to me - I was getting positive tests for ages after my ERPC and didn't feel right. They scanned me and realised that they'd left some products behind. I started bleeding and it eventually all came away. The bleeding got very heavy and clotty and it was just like having another MC. They should scan you at the EPU - just having a positive test this long after should ring alarm bells for them. They should take bloods to check that your levels are going down and keep any eye on you until you get back to normal. You have my sympathy - it's quite gruelling going through it all again. I eventually got my BFN last week, two and half months after the ERPC. Good luck.

Waves back to Coconutfeet! So glad you finally got that BFN, what a gruelling time you've had since Jan. I hope that everything gets back to normal soon (and that your referral finally went though after all their messing about). I am good thanks, another normal test result this week so halfway through the monitoring now, all good.

Well pregnancy test from doctors came back as BFN but been to see the doctor again today and they have taken bloods. FX this is all coming to an end and can start TTC (although never really stopped - sorry TMI) just want to have a sticky one next time!

Arti - Good news on the normal test result. I really hope the monitoring passes quickly. Did you have to cancel your holiday in the end or will you still be able to go?
