hello ive recently has a misscarriage at around 5/6 weeks and wondering how long it took for your cycles to return to normal (or even get a BFP).

im really confused by everything as the doctors didnt really help with any questions.

i usally have a 23 day cycle, ovulate on day 13 (6 days after bleeding has stopped) and bleed for 6.

when the mc happend i bled for 4 days but rather heavy, so if your cycle does does return to normal would i then ovulate 6 days after the mc bleed has finished which would be cycle day 10 rather then 13? argh its so confusing sorry :(

Hello

I'm 8 weeks on from my mc and still not back to normal...I had a period 3 weeks after the mc, then another one 19 days after that, and both were far lighter than normal (my cycle was always 28 days with 7/8 days of bleeding before, ovulation between day 14 and 16). I'm not sure if I've even ovulated since the mc to be honest, I certainly haven't had a strong positive on an opk. I've been to the gp, he told me it can take 3 months to get back to a normal cycle, I'm also trying reflexology. I'm day 18 today so keeping my fingers crossed this month is normal, or I'm pg!

Good luck, all I can suggest is using opks to track your cycle and otherwise just sitting it out...hard I know!

yeah i used opks before to work out my cycle when i had my contraceptive implant removed. i still had some left so have sporadically been using them but i hadnt really been wanted to be using them.as if peeing on the opk made it a bit too real that i had mc'd. i guess its only really today its hit me in a way that im actually not pregnant any more and trying to get my head around TTC again :(.

sorry to hear of your loss and fx for you i really wish you the best news :)

Hi toddle, I think the stage at which you mc also affects your cycle. If you do want to track your cycle I would use OPKs as meliesmummy suggests, my cycles came back quickly after my first two mcs but my last mc (at 15 weeks) totally knocked me off track and I didn't ovulate for two months. I had acupuncture a few weeks following my mc so I'm not sure if that has also helped. I have just recently got a BPF. Someone recommended this website to me which I found helpful. Try not to worry, I'm sure your body will soon be back to normal but maybe you need a little bit of time to sort your head out too. Take care. helpful.pregnancyloss.info/
