Really need your advice! Petrified!

I'm 5 weeks pg and everything was fine until about 4 hours ago. I had really bad period pains. Went for a lie down, got up for a wee and noticed some blood. It's not in my knickers. (sorry for tmi) but when I wee it's pink and I wipe and there's red blood on the tissue. The period like cramps are dying down but I'm terrified this is a miscarriage. Is it normal? Can I do anything to stop it?

it CAN be normal, though obviously right now it's impossible to tell what's going to happen.
in fact, it's very common to bleed a bit in early pregnancy, it can be old blood that was caught up somewhere from implantation, or you can even suffer quite heavy blood loss from the placenta comning away a bit, or sometimes it's from the cervix and nothing to do with baby at all

but i'm afraid that really only time will tell :(
i had bleeding in one pg which i went on to miscarry. I then had bleeding in 3 more pregnancies all of which turned into healthy babies.
