Bleeding mid-cycle, BFP, what's going on?

I'm freaking out a bit here, so hope someone can reassure me.

I had a MMC last October and an ERPC, and apart from one strange heavy period 2 weeks after the ERPC my cycle has gone back to near normal, if slightly irregular (29, 26, 24 days).

Yesterday I started bleeding, but my last period only started 14 days ago, so I only stopped bleeding with that one just over a week ago. Confused, I did a preg test and was surprised to get a strong BFP.

What can this mean? Even if I ovulated and conceived the day after my period, this was only a week ago, so surely the hormone levels wouldn't be high enough yet? I have had a BFN to check since the ERPC, so I know this is new. Could a chemical preg, or a fertilised egg that doesn't implant cause bleeding so early? I assumed they happened at normal cycle time.

Have a scan booked this afternoon, but any ideas or reassurance would be welcome. Smile

It might have been that the last 'period' was actually implantation bleeding of a normal pregnancy.

hope your scan shows up with good news for you - hang on in there [hug]

Thanks bclaremums - turns out you're right, but it was a small area of haemmorage(sp?) rather than implantation.

Still in shock!!! Grin
