Some of you may remember me as shelly24,i had a stillborn in may at 33weeks and a miscarriage at 5 weeks in the middle of september.I'm managing to cope(just) day to day,and am planning to leave trying to conceive fora couple of months as its kind of put me off abit....i'm so scared that something will happen again!
Anyway,i was just wondering how long after a miscarriage your normal cycles return,i know it hasn't been long since i miscarried in my case, but i'm just curious as i would like to start monitoring them again, any advice will be much appreciated,thanks.x.x.x.xshelley.x

Hi Shelley,
I'm so sorry you are having such a hard time at the moment. How awful for you.
I had a missed miscarraige at 12 weeks, found out at the scan that the baby had died and had to have a d&c. My period returned about 6 or 7 weeks later I think. I had an early miscarraige earlier this year (around 6 weeks) and my period came at the normal time after that.
I have read that if you wait 2 - 3 months after miscarraige it's much better for you, your hormones have chance to get back to normal and you have less chance of miscarrying again. I don't know how true that is but after my 12 week miscarraige we waited about 2 months and I conceived around the 4th month after the d&c and although I had a couple of scares everything was fine.
Hope all goes well for you.
