Miscarriage Still Going On 6 weeks latter! Help?

Hi Everyone

I was wondering whether anyone has had the same experience as me? I am quite scared now that there is something seriously wrong and I desperately need some closure so my husband and I an move on.

I started bleeding at 9 weeks into my first pregnancy. I had to wait a whole week until the EPAC clinic could scan me. They couldn't find a heart beat at the scan so diagnosed me with a missed miscarriage. I decided to let things happen naturally as I am not a fan of hospitals and I had already bleed for a week.

I then had heavy bleeding for a few days and went back for scan two weeks after my first scan. They pregnancy had reduced significantly but they was still some retained products. I was then sent away for another 2 weeks with a pregnancy test. This was then positive so I had to go back for a blood test. The results of this were 40 HGC (apparently very low). I then had to go back today where they scanned me. The scan was the same as before so I have had another blood test. I get the results tomorrow. If it has gone down this is good but if it has gone up something is not right.

This has been going on for 6 weeks. I really need to move on, I am very frustrated and upset and nobody seems to be giving me any answers. Has anyone experienced this?

I had a similar experience - positive pregnancy tests going on for weeks after my mc. So very upsetting. My HCG levels were low and decreasing but very slowly. They couldn't see any retained POC on the scan. Eventually I had another big bleed 13 weeks after the first and this time everything came away completely (sorry if TMI).

I really feel for you - it is just so hard to come to terms with the loss when you still have pos. pregnancy tests. Sounds to me like it is just taking a while for nature to take its course. Hang on in there :(

I conceived dd2 immediately after the second bleed - even though I had been TTC for a year before that. Apparently you get a burst of fertility straight after a miss.

I really hope things get sorted out for you soon.

I had a similar thing. I had a Missed miscarriage at 6 weeks last March. I decided to go for the medically managed option and had the pesseries. I didn't pass everything and as a result I continued to bleed for 9 weeks in total. I remember sitting with the Dr at the hospital after a scan and just weeping with the frustration of it all. I asked for surgery 3 times to evacuate my womb and they wouldn't do it. My HCG took ages to come down too.

In the end and because I was going on holiday - the consultant prescribed me progesterone tablets to stop the bleeding. I had to take them for a week then stop - it tricks your body into thinking it is having a period and then should initiate a good bleed to have a 'clear out' (sorry)

Your body will return to normal ( I hated being told that but it is true x) - and I know how frustrating it is - how can you move on when your body won't let you? I stopped bleeding in the May and was pg again by July. Good luck :)

Thank you. I am so glad I am not the only one. I have been seraching on the net but couldn't find anything.

I am trying to keep positive but it is just so frustrating. I am hoping that the blood test reults are good news tommorrow and if not that they might do something about it!
