I have been bleeding since Saturday, had a scan yesterday which showed my baby but no heartbeat. The baby only measured 5mm which is the size of a 4 week old, which was around Christmas & New Year when I had no idea I was pregnant & enjoyed several drinks, I keep telling myself the baby was not developing is just one of those things but I do blame myself! I am so sad & crying all the time, haven't lost the baby yet the doctor said it should be this week sometime! I wanted this baby so much.... can't imagine how hard it must be for women who lose their babies later on cause this is awful...love to anyelse struggling.x

Oh poor you, I'm so sorry you are going through this. You mustn't blame yourself, a few drinks so early on will not have made any difference at all.

It is so hard to lose a longed for baby and I'm sending you hugs and support.

I'm so sorry you are going through this MrsSteph. I found out I had an empty sac yesterday so know how hard it is for you right now. But please don't blame yourself; like yellowtomato says, the drinks will not have made a difference. Sometimes these things just happen. My sonographer yesterday was very clear that it was nothing I had done, it was just one of those horrible things that sometimes happens.

I hope you have people looking after you. Take care of yourself. x

MrsSteph you replied to me on my thread.
i am so sorry you are going through this. its probably easier for me as im not as far and didnt have to have a scan.
please dont blame your self. i know its easier said then done but you really didnt do anything wrong.
take care and keep talking if it helps. x

you MUST not blame yourself. When unknowingly pg with DS I drank a lot on several occasions (work dos where it was part of the culture). He is absolutely fine (am not condoning drinking in pg btw). Then I have had 3MMCs where I've given up all the things "bad" for you. Made no difference :(

Am sorry for your loss - I know it's so hard. I hope your MC is quick and as pain-free as possible. Look after yourself.

Thanks everyone! I was a day late on Christmas day, as we where trying I did a test & it came up negative, so I thought no reason to stay sober, the same 3 days later & again after 7 days late, only after 10 days did the test show postive! I put it down to being cheaper makes of tests than say clearblue but now I am thinking maybe it just wasn't a strong pregnancy from the start! or maybe just coincience?
Only known I was pregnant for 22 days but make so many plans & dreams around this baby!
Never realised how common a MC is but I won't forget!
Thanks for everyones surport it really helps.x

MrsSteph thats a good way to look at it that it wasnt a strong pregnancy from the start so there was nothing could be done to change it.my bfp took 16 days before it started to appear as a faint line. the line was at its strongest today when its all over.
i didnt realise so many people had mc either. it helps though to know there are others who know how you feel.
take care. x
