Adenomyosis. Anyone else have it or know what it is?!

I may be posting this in the wrong place but I'm after some help / advice on what adenomyosis is. I had an ultrasound scan at a recurrent miscarriage clinic after 4 mc and apparently it suggests adenomyosis.

I have no fecking idea what it is and Dr google tells me I need a hysterectomy to rectify it

Would be grateful for any advice from anyone who has experience of this.

HI barrenbrook. I do not have experience of this, but I found a website that explains it well here. No word about its relation to miscarriage other than it says most women who have it have endometriosis. The treatments do not state hysterectomy so it looks like you have some options. If you have not been formally diagnosed with endometriosis (via laparoscopy), then I would explore that first as endo can cause miscarriage.

Hi, just wanted to say that I've also been diagnosed with adenomyosis, after 2 missed miscarriages (and 2 ERPCs), and 3 chemical pregnancies. I was told that its role in fertility was unknown, but no one mentioned the need for any treatment. I googled it too and was horrified to see hysterectomy mentioned so much, but I get the impression that's if you have really severe symptoms.

PS I was told that it is glandular tissue growing into muscular tissue and it can be the result of trauma.

I know this is a super old msg, just wondered what advice you got on how to treat it! I have the same thing!
