Gynae appointment in Feb but ready to try again..

After 3 MC last year I felt I would never be ready to try again and face the possible heart ache of going through it all again. At that point i was happy to wait until specialist appointment and further tests.

Coming into the new year I am feeling fresh and feel ready to go for it again. My appointment is beginning of feb but I am pre-empting weeks/ months of tests and results before we get any answer of any!!

Have any of you guys been here? Did you wait or go for it again before your Gynae appointments.

I've just had an ERPC (3 mc) and in the early pregnancy unit, and the hospital ward where I had the operation, I was told not to wait for the recurrent miscarriage clinic appointment, that chances were it wouldn't find anything and I might be "lucky" next time. I'm 40 though so that might influence what they told me.
Hard to think of going through it again though, isn't it? Sorry for what you've been through, Mylittlebubble.

Mylittlebubble, I'm also ttc after 3 recurrent mc. We've had all the tests, but are still waiting for some of the results (clotting and karyotyping). But at my last appointment I was told that it's highly unlikely they'll find anything as I have a perfectly healthy DS (2.4) born from a perfectly normal low-risk pregnancy.

So yes, new year, new ttc plans. Think it's best to take advantage of feeling positive, as that can only help. Good luck!!!

Sorry to hear you guys are in the same boat. Sending loys and hugs and luck to you both.

Digitalgirl we find each other again Smile. Hopefully we will find ourselves on the same post natal group this year Smile.

Hi
just to add really: have had 3 MMCs since Sept 09, last one in Sept 10, after DS born in May 08. Have my NHS appointment at the end of the month, but as time definitely not on my side, chose to also have private clinic tests which all came back clear just before Christmas. The consultant at the clinic when I had all the bloods and scans done said there was no need to wait to TTC, and that they could/would treat empirically if necessary.

So I would say crack on ... Grin.

Good luck to you too jolls.

Hope so mylittlebubble hope so

Thanks for your reply Jolls

I guess the answer to my question is too 'Crack On' Smile

Hopefully see you all around on the more positive threads

I'm the same as mrsfeathers. Two mc last year, appointment mis jan but am trc anyway on advice. I'm 42.

Hi, I'm also in the same position following a miscarriage, my son Malachy stillborn at 30 weeks and another miscarriage. We have an appointment at the recurrent miscarriage clinic for blood tests which need to be taken, and then wiil probably have to wait 3 months for a follow up appointment so we have decided to ditch contraception but not actively ttc as such! Tbh I don't want to put everything on hold, I'm 32 next month (okay, not old but still..) and chances are there will be no explanation anyway (no reason was found for my son's stillbirth). Luckily I conceive very easily, perhaps too easily, so I hope this year will be happier than the last.

So if I were you I'd go for it ! X

Mylittlebubble · 09/01/2011 08:26

Thanks Minione. Sending you love for your losses x

We are hoping 2011 brings joy as it seems 2010 was a bad year for many people we know Sad
