Was it a miscarriage

Last month I had a heavy bleed approx 4 days before my period was due. MIL put it down to my age - am 37 just. I had no pain but seemed to lose clots each time I went to the loo (4 or 5 times) felt a bit down and emotional. I just thought it was one of those things... - tried pregnancy test but negative.

Spoke to the GP - on the phone who said it may be an early miscarriage or just a heavy period said it might have been v early and not show up on pg test and to nothing. Am just wondering if anyone has any experience of this??

apparently something like 75% of conceptions fail before youve even missed a period and you have no idea. however, its not unusual for af to vary in flow now and again, it could have just been an unusually heavy period.
