I've just had a miscarriage Sad

2 weeks ago I went for a scan after some bleeding and saw a little heartbeat.

Last week after more bleeding I went for another scan and the heartbeat was down to only 87 beats a minute. Instead of being a nice round shape the gestational sac looked like an hour glass. I could almost see the baby getting weaker and was told there was little hope.

Over the next day I began to loose big clots. In the evening after an hour of severe pain I lost what I assume was the baby.

Anyway, thank god I had read about what to expect on Mumsnet. The hospital didn't give me any guidance on what might happen if I did miscarry, presumably as the baby was still alive when I went to see them, but had I not read up what could happen I would have been terrified when I basically went into what felt a bit like labour!

So thank you Mumsnet. It's been a really hard few days with I'm sure more to come, but thanks to you ladies sharing your experiences I coped better with the actual physical side of losing my baby than I might have.

Thinking of all of you who are going through anything like the same. x

Lobyd, I'm so sorry to hear you have had to go through this too, but glad that MN has helped. It's amazing isn't it that people share information, thoughts and feelings on here that we all so desperately need, but that we wouldn't dream of sharing with our closes friends in real life? Big hugs. I hope the physical side of your MC continues to go as well as these things can and that you are getting lots of support in RL and on here. Take care and look after yourself in these early days and weeks x

Oh I am really, really sorry. What a horrible thing to go through...you poor thing.

Thinking of you xxx

Thank you both.

I feel kind of okay...which probably means I'm not dealing with it at all! I have had a good response from people I have told in RL too - so many have said it has happened to them...it shouldn't be such a taboo subject, I feel.

I think it's good to talk about it..another reason why Mumsnet is so great!
