Conceiving after an ERPC

how soon did you conceive and go on to have a healthy baby after an ERPC, am particularly interested to hear from women in their late 30s/40s, an extra specially interested to hear from anyone who is also rhesus negative.

I am having the procedure next week and this will be my second miscarriage, thankfully I have a wonderful dc but would dearly love another. Is there any hope?

I don't have any good news, but just to empathise really.

I'm 42, RHneg, have DS 2y3m. Have had 3 MMCs in the last 12 months. Had ERPC after first and got pg cycle 3. MC naturally after MMC2, and waited 3 months to TTC again on Acu advice. Got pg first month of trying, but had another sad 12 week scan and had ERPC last month.

Will start to think about going for tests in the next few weeks. Interested you mention RHneg. Do you think there is a link?

I don't know really jollster, there are plenty of women out there who've had recurrent miscarriages who aren't RH neg but I suppose I just want to hear good news from "people like me". I seem to take a while to get pregnant, 2nd pregnancy took about a year and then 3rd pregnancy took about 7 months so that's almost 2 years from when we started trying to conceive dc number 2. I just want to get pregnant asap, as do we all.

sorry for your losses jollster Sad

btw I'm on daily asprin but that obviously hasn't made an difference

Ljg, sorry to hear you have had to go through this so soon after the last time. That must be really really hard on you. I hope your results shed some light so it will be better for you next time. take care x

Sorry for all of your losses. Don't know if this will be any help but my Mum is Rhesus negative but she only had problems with her babies late in pregnancy (still birth at 38 weeks), brother delivered 5 weeks early and was extremely poorly. She has never had an "early" miscarriage. I think all these probs are solved now with the Rhesus factor injection? I am Rhesus positive however and had an early miscarriage two weeks ago. So may not be a correlation between the two.

She had me unexpectedly at 39 by the way 32 years ago so there is hope.

Can only comment on ERPC (not rh- or late 30s, am early 30s) but I conceived in third cycle after. (in fact, same as length of time after non-ERPC mc)

MissWooWoo · 25/09/2010 12:47

I guess there is no rhyme or reason to it

lgj72 so sorry that you are going through this again so soon, it is just not fair Sad

MissWooWoo - Really sorry you're going through this.

I'm 38, Rh negative and had 2 MCs last year, having an ERPC with the second. I got pregnant 2 months later and the result is nearly 12 weeks old and asleep in my arms. He's even more of a miracle as my 2 failed pregnancies were IVF and he was conceived naturally Hope this helps!

I had an ERPC following a mmc at 10+ weeks in Aug 2005 at the age of 42. Had a second ERPC after mmc at 7+ weeks in March 2006, still aged 42. In June 2006, first month of TTC aged 43 got pregnant and had healthy DD in March 2007 (a year almost to the day of the EDD for the first pregnancy)
