Hi
Am hoping someone else has been through what I am going through - Had a scan this morning (5+wks instead of the 7+wks was expecting)showed heartbeat and everything - all seemed well, unti I arrived home and saw I had started to bleed, a lot at first now seems to have slowed. Called drs said not to worry very normal in early preg - dont worry - yeah right lol, am going out of my mind - can anyone share their experiences with me?
Thanks,

Didn't want this to go unanswered, I bet most of the others are dealing with children. The doctor is right that its very common and probably not a problem, but of course you are worried. Was there a reason you had an early scan? Its especially unlikely to be a problem if you saw a healthy bean this morning. If it doesn't settle or gets worse I'd call the EPAU

best of luck

Hi Lydma2be,

I had bleeding (albeit only slight) with DD, a day after my 7 week scan. I am convinced it was because it was an internal scan, but there is no research that supports my hypothesis.

I do not want to worry you, but are you sure your dates are right? How long ago did you get a + pregnancy test? I only ask because I thought I was 8 weeks and a scan only measured me at 6 weeks, which was actually impossible due to when I got my BFP. I miscarried. As I said, I DO NOT want to worry you all, just thought I would ask you. We regularly get our dates mixed up due to varying cycle lengths and I know many women who have had a change in due date and everything is fine.

Well recently my cycle has started to change so I wasn't sure what if was 7+ weeks or about 6 wks - so yes it was a shocked that I was not as far gone as I thought, but they did not seem worried about it. The bleeding slowed to a stop pretty quickly last night and have had nothing since? I had early scans due to previous eptopic - (have had 3 scans already) also blood taken has shown promising signs. Maybe I over reacted am not sure. After the eptopic I was worried about trying for a baby again and now have fell pregnant really dont want to loose it - not sure could go through it all again! I understand that any bleeding does not look good - I guess I hoped the Drs at the EPAU would rush me in for another scan but instead they said not to worry! See midwife on Friday I really hope everything will be fine. Its making me a nervous wrek!

No wonder you're worried. And sometimes more scans and tests end up making us more worried instead of giving the the reassurance they are meant to. In teh end there's a large dose of chance, but your chances are good, I think its something like 98% are fine after seeing a heartbeat. There's plenty of other reasons for a short bleed (cysyts, decidual bleeding etc) I hope you get some comfort from your midwife, I find them much more soothing than doctors

Still no more blleding - fingers crossed. See midwife tomorrow - fingers crossed!
