What do you class as cd1 after Medically Managed MC?

Hi all,

Hoping someone might be able to explain this to me?

I had a Medically Managed MC on the 6th August. Would I therefore class the 6th as cd1? so I would be cd11 today?

I am still spotting on and off (mostly off) but have had a tiny bit today and yesterday, however most of the day I have none.

Would cd1 be the 1st day of absolutely no spotting or the day of mc?

TIA x

Sorry to hear about your mc,

I think you can expect your cycle to be all over the place for a while, you basically have to wait for your first period and then you can count cycle days again, but it may be a couple of months before it becomes "normal" again.

There is great info on this site:

Thanks for that MummyAbroad, I'm a bit of a control freak I'm afraid!

I think its just frustrating as I'm finding it difficult finding information about medical management, everything I find either refers to natural or erpc.

I suppose I should just refer to the natural information, as it is probably the same in terms of cycles returning and bleeding length etc.

Thanks for the reply, much appreciated.

Anything that gets you through it!

I had medical management too, unfortunately, it didnt work out for me in the end and I had to have an ERPC later on. I followed most of the info related to natural, as really its the same, just that you are "inducing" the moment of mc.

I think I read somewhere that the beginning of your cycle starts from the moment that the placenta is removed from the lining of the uterine wall, and this is pretty difficult to know. Also in a normal cycle you wouldnt be waiting for your HCG count to drop but after a mc you are, so its never going to be a completely normal cycle.

Have you dont a home preg test? I found it reassuring to know if my body had returned to "non pregnant" or not. At least its some feedback to help you know where you are.

take care, xxx
