Hi, Is their anyone out there that has had 4 miscarriages in a row, then gone on to have a baby???

Its really strange whats happened to me, I already have 2 children, aged 8 & 3 with no problems at all. Then about 12 months ago me & my husband decided to try for 1 more, so i came off the pill. I fell pregnant 4 times & each time i miscarriaged early between 5 to 6 weeks. I went to the doctor she did blood tests which came back fine & then she sent me for a scan which also came back fine, she said to keep trying but i'm really scared to!

Can anyone advise me please???

Hi MrsJBarlow,

I have had 4 mcs in a row. Started ttc a year and a half ago, don't have any dc's, and had 4 mcs in that time. I also had early mcs like you, between 5-6wks too.

Am now 10 wks pregnant so fingers crossed for the future!

I too had blood tests, everything fine (both good news and frustrating!). The only thing that I think could be different this time is that as soon as I found out I was pg I was referred for hcg injections and have had weekly scans.

Hope this helps, dont really have advice exactly but am really sorry for your mcs, are you getting some help/a referral for help? You are entitled to it!

mrsjbarlow i have two dc (9 & 6) and have had 4 mc in a row while ttc number 3, i am now 18 weeks pg.

when you say you had blood tests where they done by your gp or where you refered to a specialist? i say this because my gp tried to read my blood test results and told me they were all fine but when i saw my consultant i actually had a protein deficiency that could cause clotting problems.

this time i have been on 150mg aspirin, daily claxane injections and double dose folic acid.

fingers crossed for you in the future.

Hi mumatron, Thanks for your reply, Had a blood test for antibobies at my gp which they sent to be tested which came back ok. I went back to doctor yesterday & they are gonna do a another blood for Lupus Anticoagulant & send that to be tested, if that comes back ok then doctor said she is gonna refer me to hospital!

So fingers crossed this will get sorted!

She did mention something about aspirin to me yesterday!

All the best in your pregnancy!

it just seems a bit silly to do the tests one at a time. could they not just take a load of blood and test all at once?

it's good that the antibodies were negative but make sure the test is repeated in at least 6 weeks time.

heres the list of tests that i had. might be worth taking it along to your gp, see if they can get on with it!

Blood Tests

?Day 2-6 FSH and LH to exclude Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS)
?HbA1C to exclude diabetes
?Thyroid function tests
?Chromosomes (patient and partner)
?DRVVT to exclude Lupus Anticoagulant (repeated twice at least 6 weeks apart)
?Anticardiolipin Antibodies (repeated twice at least 6 weeks apart)
?Factor V Leiden, Prothrombin Mutation Analysis, Protein S, Protein C, Activated Protein C Resistance (APCR), Anti-Thrombin III.

good luck.
