positive test three weeks after erpc!

hello ladies,
i had an erpc just over three weeks ago now, then got a urine infection which still hasn't cleared up so am on another two weeks of antibiotics, then today i have done a pregnancy test to check it's all negative but it has come up as a strong positive, is this normal or does it mean they have left some tissue etc behind?

Sorry to hear of your m/c I think a positive so early after your m/c means there may be residual tissue. Don't think it could be a pregnancy so early on but don't quote me on that. I got pg 6 weeks after my erpc and that's the earliest I could have conceived. Maybe talk to your GP?

i dont think it's a new pregnancy as we haven't had sex for ages (since i got pregnant) but am concerened why it's positive still after three weeks from the erpc!

Have you stopped bleeding?

Yes, didn't really bleed much at all after the erpc, only a couple of days of light bleeding!

Ok so maybe do another test when you've stopped bleeding. I think I stopped after about 4 weeks.

Call your EPU and tell them - they may want to scan you, just to check. Did you have any tests done on a sample of tissue after the ERPC?

Please insist on a scan. I had a very strong positive nearly 3 weeks after ERPC and was supposed to go for a scan last night. Unfortunately on Monday night (on the M3) I started bleeding heavily and was rushed to a and e. I had so much bleeding (and clots) I had to have a second ERPC and night in the hospital. Not fun. Had I had a scan earlier then none of this would have happened and I would have had another ERPC without the trauma of bleeding in between.
