My dc is due to start middle school in September. One of my friends posted on Facebook a couple of months ago about applying but she's in a different county and when I checked, ours wasn't open yet. A few friends who have kids already at middle school said don't worry about it, the school will give you information and forms nearer the time.
Fast forward to this morning and I was browsing the council website looking for info on another matter and came across something that said the closing date was 31st October!
It was completely off my radar, we've had a lot of stuff going on in the family the last few months and I just didn't give it another thought, assuming that forms would come as they had in previous years. There has been nothing advertised anywhere round town about it, or on Facebook or anywhere. Google led me to a post where someone had missed the primary school applications and the OP was told it's well advertised in GP surgeries, the local papers, libraries, Facebook etc. I've seen nothing anywhere and we've had no forms.
Where do I go from here? We have 2 middle schools in town and it's not a huge town. The one we want, and the one that DC's school is a feeder school for, is right next to our house so we'd be in the catchment for it.
