Moving School in Year 5 for my 9 yr old

Hi ,

This is my first post so please bear with me !

I have a very confident clever and happily settled at school 9r old son .
He loves his school and has been there from reception.
We have recently moved 30 mins drive away, plus with my drive to work this makes our journey time 1hour 20 mins each morning and night.

Thinking ahead, my partner and I would like another child , and I eventually would like to change my job to somewhere closer to our new home .

There is a very good school less then 5 mins walk away and I would be very keen to look into this.

My Son is very unhappy by this and refuses to talk about it .

I'm really torn as to what is the best compromise would be? He's settled in so well with the house move .

I'd really appreciate any ideas or feedback?

Just move him . He'll settle again, it is simply fear of the unknown, and it was a risk you took when moving. Involve him in local extracurricular stuff which he probably doesn't have time for atm.

Agree with LIZS. At 9 yrs old I'm sorry but it's not his choice and these things happen. You're the parent and have to make choices for the family, not just an individual child.
