My GP prescribed me Kliofem on Monday, strted taking it yesterday ( Tuesday) my only menopausal problem is hot flushes and they are driving me mad - how long will it take for the effects of the HRT to kick in? desperate to see an improvement. Also does anyone have any good or bad experiences on this drug?

Are you taking hrt is so what one and I suppose the question always is how long did it take for you to achieve any positive results

Emerald13 · 15/04/2018 07:29

Yes I am on hrt and I’m 42. I started a year ago and it made a huge difference. I felt better almost immediately but I was like my old self after 5 months of taking it. It takes some time for body to adjust. Hi

Khaleesi2018 · 15/04/2018 07:42

Many thanks. Take care

Hi all xx

I've just started oestrogen HRT to cope with mood swings, flushes etc. Only day two but feeling a bit better :) Only worry is - has anyone found this likely to cause weight gain? have been on various diets all my life and don't want to put anything I've lost back on :(

Kezza4 · 20/06/2018 19:30

Help!!!! I've been taking Eleste 1mg for a month and a half.....and I'm struggling 😔 I had tried every natural way of dealing with peri menopause but was suffering with every possible symptom which was affecting my life. I hoped I would feel anazibg again once starting HRT....but I still feel lethargic moody tired tearful bla bla bla.....any advice will be greatly received 😔

Emerald13 · 20/06/2018 23:14

It takes time. I felt better almost immediately but I started to feel like my old self after 4-5 months. Just try not to think so much about and don’t look for side effects. :)

Piano007 · 27/06/2018 09:37

Hi,
I started 2 mg estrogen 5 days ago. Feeling a bit better, but still a little anxious and wanting to sleep. Removed ovaries a year ago and have had an awful year. Praying that things will be better. Hugs for everyone in this thread.

Piano007 · 28/06/2018 12:15

Hi again, did anyone else feel a little bit more anxious and moody when starting estrogen? I'm on day 6 and although I'm feeling better, I do feel anxious and a little unstable. Really hope and pray that I can handle estrogen Confused

Piano007 · 05/07/2018 18:17

Dear Kezza4, how are you doing now? Smile

Kezza4 · 07/07/2018 22:06

Hey everyone....I have to say I'm feeling worse. Anxious moody angry tearful....i just feel so aggressive and don't want anyone around me or to talk to me. My temper is in a non-existent fuse. I'm a week in to my third month of Elleste 2mg. I think I need a different HRT 😔

Kezza4 · 07/07/2018 22:08

Piano007 I feel dreadful 😔

Knitting1967 · 11/07/2018 15:29

Hi, I started on Elleste Solo 1mg last week so this is my 8th day on it and I feel so drained and have the attention span of a gnat! Hot flushes have almost stopped but the energy and lack of attention is worse. GP suggested a couple of weeks on 1mg and then of no improvement go up to 2mg. Am i being too impatient or should I start on 2mg now?
Feeling like I could put my head down and sleep all day which is not great. Any advice or help would be much appreciated. Hmm

Kezza4 · 11/07/2018 22:08

Hey.....I'm about to start patches and prog for 1 week. Eleste didn't work for me. I'm really struggling with it all. And trying to smile through it all.....is very difficult Confused

Lesley64 · 08/08/2018 20:48

Iv bin going through the menopause symptoms for a couple of years taking black coash an sage tablets my sweats aren’t as bad as they were but not completely gone it’s getting me down I’m now a year clear of my monthly doctors recommended HRT but I’m worried that my monthly will return has anyone experienced this

Desi2601 · 29/08/2018 13:30

Xal Like you I have started Elleste Duet tablets 1 mg now 13 days ago, but don't notice much of course early days but thought it would do something by now. I only feel immensely tired {like I usually do before a period} but now extended and If I eat just a little something I feel very full the last few days. Wonder if the 1 mg is not to low? I am 5.2 ft. How about you meanwhile?

Rara1971 · 04/09/2018 14:56

Hi....im on my 2nd day of taking elleste so im hoping my sweats calm down. I do sleep well but thats due to taking amitriptalin for a nearve condition....

Piano007 · 19/09/2018 06:31

For me it took 2 months. It helped me out of my depressive (bipolar) episode. So far my migraine is almost gone. I'm on 2 mg Progynova.

kalmia · 07/10/2018 08:56

I'm on kliovance 4th day now since started. Already working maybe psychologically as I feel I'm taking control over the symptoms. Actually not one hot flush ( usually 3 a day)
Anyone else on this.

Miladymilord · 09/10/2018 07:39

I felt better in a week after starting elleste duet 1mg.

Hot flushes went to almost nothing and my mood has improved so much! No more rage. Its early days and I'm just a few tablets into the progesterone phase which I've heard can make you moody.

Loving it so far.

Joopies · 09/10/2018 21:31

I started Estelle Duet 2mg today. Looking forward to it kicking in!
Really helpful to read all the comments

Miladymilord · 09/10/2018 22:02

Second green pill taken today and I have what feels suspiciously like period pains Shock

MichelleC69 · 10/10/2018 06:58

Joining this thread as I'm interested in others experiences. On day 6 of Kliovance and still not sleeping any better, still feeling moody and miserable. Guess I need to give it a bit more time. Fed up of feeling like a grumpy bitch, only remarried 5 months ago and poor hubby doesn't know what's hit him Hmm

QueenoftheNights · 10/10/2018 18:15

@Michelle- 6 days? Shock it's not a miracle cure like that :)
The medical advice is 3 months minimum to see how you feel. You may pick up in a few weeks or it may take longer.

MichelleC69 · 10/10/2018 20:45

@queenofthenights yeah I guessed it would take longer than 6 days but bloody hell, 3 months?! I just want to sleep for a straight 8 hours without the aid of a bottle of wine, and for my husband not to divorce me before our 1st anniversary! Wink
