I can't find these anywhere, one Boots said they might get some end of November. I need to try and talk to my GP again but does anyone know of an alternative, or what happens if you stop taking them? I have been on oestrogel, about to switch to patches which I can get

They’re not still available are they?!

Amie43 · 21/02/2023 19:12

Anyone finding Utrogestan at the moment? Pharmacies hopeless, ditto online whether private or “NHS”. Am completely out. Location north Bucks but would travel. Thanks.

Amie43 · 21/02/2023 19:43

If they’ve not all gone, yes please, completely out, nightmare! 🤞🏻

unfortunately she is my MP. She is utterly shit.

When I read her tweet, I felt that hopeful, then sunken feeling of being fobbed off.

GoldCherub · 21/02/2023 21:58

I am out of Utrogestan can’t get it anywhere. Do I still continue with the Evorel 50 patches? Does anyone know please?

I’m trying to get through to my GP but no luck today.

She’s good at that

That's a shame, I hope Besin's and other manufacturers are manufacturing more, it's in their best interests, as they make more money.

My GP said you need progesterone to oppose the oestrogen to protect the womb lining and protect against cancer, so I would not use oestrogen alone. I am not a doctor though. Sorry you could not get through. Maybe call as soon as the surgery opens, or go there to book an appointment.

I started hrt a few weeks ago and it's made such a difference to my life. I'm 34 and was yesterday put on utrogestan. Pharmacy won't have any for weeks. So will be calling round today to find some. I'm on the implant but was told that I need the tablets too as I refuse to go on the mirena. I'm not looking forward to years of trying to track down medicine.

vivainsomnia · 22/02/2023 12:09

I have two boxes unopened left from when I stopped taking it still in date until next year I think.

Happy to send for free to whoever sends me a message first.

My friend is a pharmacist, he was saying yesterday it will be mid to end of March before he gets any more supplies of utrogestan , he is referring his customers back to their GP, he said there is an alternative that is easier to get hold of.

But Besins say on their website that supplies were being released this week on the 20th Feb.

Has he heard otherwise?

Anjo2011 · 22/02/2023 15:42

@JinglingSpringbells I will ask him. One of my friends is desperate to get some and I asked him on her behalf yesterday, that’s when he said mid/end of March. I hope for everyone needing it that it is more like this week, I have no idea how the supply chain works.

VooVooV · 22/02/2023 23:13

My private prescription is hopefully (all - ie gel & tablets) being delivered tomorrow. 🙏🏻🤞🏻
Which ties in with what a few posters have said re supplies being released this week.

NothankyouNigel · 23/02/2023 09:47

I almost kissed my pharmacist. They just received a delivery this morning. East London.

Just tried my local pharmacy (East London) who have been holding my Utrogestan prescription for the last 2 weeks. Still no stock and no date when they will have any.

I ran out a week ago. I really don't know what to do other than to desperately hope. My GP won't prescribe anything else as she says it's too risky (it needs to be body identical because of my being high risk for breast cancer) so stuck hoping for a Utrogestan delivery miracle.

Anyone any ideas how long latest utrogestan progesterone capsules (oral) shortage again will last ? I’m completely out of it and starting to panic as can’t get anywhere?

Genetaylor · 22/03/2023 08:48

Anyone that’s ordered from pharmacy online did they end up contacting your gp and did it make any issues for you requesting your next nhs lot of utrogestan? Thanks

There was a huge batch delivered to wholesalers about 3 weeks ago. (I was able to get mine that I'd waited 4 weeks for after submitting my prescription.)

These supplies should have made their way into most pharmacies, if the were on the ball and kept phoning. The pharmacy where I got mine said they called the wholesalers daily, to request a supply.

I can't be sure but I think it may coe down to the pharmacy being persistent on requesting supplies.

If you can hold onto your prescription, you can take it anywhere and try other pharmacies.

There is always an update on Besins website (under Products) and the latest info says another batch is about to be supplied.[[https://www.besinshealthcare.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2023/03/BHUK_2023_152-Product-Supply-Update-No-14-March-2023-v1.pdf

Thanks for the reply, unfortunately everywhere round by me have run out already! I’m not convinced they have ordered enough and have given them to those who had been waiting longer than me! Never mind
