I started hrt patches on Tuesday, as I am going through the menopause hoping they help, not really sure what to expect symptoms wise or how long they take to work

Hi I started Evorel Conti Patches 3 days ago. I’m 56 and really thought the menopause was a breeze - periods stopped at 47 and although I felt anxious sometimes - I was managing it ok. Now suddenly at 56 I have zero libido, anxiety through the roof, gum disease, eczema, fungal infections, tearfulness and extreme irritability. It’s like an advent calendar of symptoms 🙄😆!! So fingers crossed that these patches will make me human again ! If anyone else is feeling the same please feel free to chat.

Hi I’m on evorel conti too I’ve had all the symptoms you could think of . Takes about 5 month to feel the full effect . Most of my symptoms have gone. I suffered with anxiety before the menopause anyway .I’ve lost all the weight that I put on through menopause too.

Great idea about having baths around patch change time although I had a bath this morning and the patch is still on !
I put it on my upper thigh near hip bone - someone was asking previously.
I have suffered from migraines too since I was about 43 years old which sounds like hormones again . So right the comment about migraines being linked to hormones and all those wasted years !! I have spent years letting uninterested doctors deal with my symptoms and not the cause! And I don’t mean just migraines but all the other symptoms- anxiety, insomnia, skin conditions etc. i have been prescribed so many drugs when it was clearly a hormonal issue.

so glad to hear the patches are working for you …it’s a scary thing this HRT - well it is for me as it feels unnatural somehow but I’m persevering !

Has anyone reduced their dose? I was getting on well on 25mg but then I increased to 50mg. The reason was that I thought that my severe joint pain was menopausal symptoms. (have since found out that it’s not) I have gained weight, feel bloated and knackered all the time on 50 but I have switched from patches to gel and back to patches again. Not sure whether to let it settle for a while or go back to 25mg?

I started evorel conti 5 months ago after being on evorel sequi for 18 months. I am feeling much better since I started using it. I have dreadful headaches and these have almost stopped. I am also sleeping better. I have had issues with bleeding though, pretty well constant, finll y stopped now, for now at least, but apparently this can occur whilst your body is getting used to it - healthexpress.co.uk/evorel-conti

Hi I have been on Evorel Conti for 3 months now and feel ok. My migraines are still gone but my anxiety, irritability and rage are still there. I am generally calmer than before but then sometimes experience severe anxiety and panic. I’m seeing my GP tomorrow. I’m not experiencing any bleeding or sore boobs etc which is good.
oxterguff I would try 25g and see how you go first - I’m on 25

Hi, I started evorel conti patches end of November beginning of December, I have had irregular bleeding on and of since then. Today 28th February I have period type pains and the bleeding is quite heavy ,red when I wipe but on the pad it is dark brown discharge. My neck and around my shoulders are quite warm to touch, is this normal in the first months, I also keep changing over from gel and tablet to patches as one works for a while then it doesn't, I have a phone appointment tomorrow but I'm concerned it could be more serious I had the same problem a year ago and had biopsy done which wasn't pleasant and I don't want to go through this again I'm making myself ill thinking about it

Not sure if this thread is still going, but wanted to put this somewhere.

Started estradot 25mg last night with progesterone tablets then day 14 of cycle the for 12 days.

I have to then book a review in 3 months with the nurse at GP surgery.

Is anybody else on this option?

The side effect of menopause I feel is the worst for me is the insomnia & then the nightmares when I am asleep.

Hairloss is noticeable too, but not sure if down to my underactive thyroid - tsh around 1ish currently which seems to suit me best.

I feel a bit short tempered & teary today - I don’t usually feel like this & wondered if it’s a coincidence.

Did anyone get any unexpected positive effects from hrt?

pimplebum · 09/03/2024 18:37

I had to go back on them after 3 week period and horrible panic attacks

pimplebum · 09/03/2024 18:39

I personally not bothered by glue patches - reckoned when I went swimming those that knew , knew

emphasise with the scary

Is anyone here on the Femsseven conti patches? I’ve just started on them as I react every badly to norethisterone which is in the Evorel patches. I never see Femseven mentioned on here and had to some detective work myself before asking my GP.

i can’t tolerate progesterone in tablet form either so this is a last chance saloon!
