Hi, I'm new to this but was wondering if anyone has a child starting reception at Garfield primary school in wimbledon. My son is four and I would love for him to play date with other kids on my road who will be starting reception with him in September. I'm on south park road so walking distance would be good. He likes jumping on the bed, painting, peppa pig, play dough, Lego, cooking, dancing, dressing up! He doesn't like violence or typical boy games that much. He also speaks a lot. So I'm looking for an arty chatterbox for weekend playdates! Would love to meet some local mums too!

Your DS has similar interests to mine but DS is only 3.8 and unfortunately not starting reception til 2011. We are in the battles and spend most of time trawling around various parks in the area.

Can I be nosey and ask whether Garfield was your first choice ? Just curious because I supposed you're inbetween Holy Trinity and Garfield.

Nice to hear from a fellow Wimbledon Mum.

Hello! Your son sounds like a perfect playdate so let's both stop trawling around the parks! Funny that you ask about the schools. Garfield was my first choice as I'm from wimbledon, have been to comprehensive schools all my life, some not so good but my husband and I have done alright! Although it appears that garfield's grades are slipping but it is our nearest school and there is a bit of a mixed bunch but they all seem happy... We're putting happiness above performance and are chancing it. Didn't bother with holy trinity as we're not regular church goers! Have washing to do on Sundays! We also have very posh middle class next door neighbours and they send both their very well turned out sons there... If it's good enough for them.... Schooling has changed so much since I went, we just rocked up to our nearest school and the rest was down to family background and aspirations. How can we meet up? Do I have to post my details on here??? Surely not???

Not sure how this is done really. When and where would you like to meet up?
