Meet-ups

When meeting up take sensible precautions. Meet in a public place and let others know where you are going.

I'm new. Are there many mums in Hertfordshire?

HI, I've just moved to St. Albans and wondered if there are many other mums with small children in the neighbourhood, and if you could point me in the right direction for activities / schools / meet-ups etc.

Thanks!

welwyn garden city is the town next to Hatfield, whcih is the town next to St albans, you are about 20 minutes drive from here.

Twik · 15/08/2005 10:34

Oh, that's good to know! Yes, I've heard of both of those places of course, I just didn't immediately recognise the abbreviation. So, do you meet up with other mums much?

Hello Twik. I live in Bricket Wood, in between Watford and St Albans.

Our local crowd is meeting up this week - in three days' time to be precise.

here's the thread. We love a new face, please come and join us on Thursday.

spursmum · 15/08/2005 17:24

Im from Hatfield, down the road from you. But i can always squeeze in Misdee's or Sparkley's car!!!

Tabs · 15/08/2005 17:40

Hi Twik - I'm in Kimpton/Whitwell, about 20mins from St Albans. My baby's so small that it hasn't been born yet, so I'm no use with activity recommendations .
I'd echo Anorak's invite to our meet up on Thursday though. Come along and make some new friends

Twik · 15/08/2005 21:46

Oh, thanks everyone. I'll see if I can make it on Thursday, I've got a job interview on Friday and have to do a presentation and have got dp to promise to babysit on Thursday for me so I can get on with it. But it's good to know you're all out there ... so near ...

I'm just outside Stevenage, a little bit further north but your not on your own. St Albans is a lovely place to live, just a nightmare to drive into. Hope you enjoy the area.

Hi Twik. Welcome to mumsnet. I'm in Barnet and meet up regularly with other mumsnetters in and around st albans/watford/barnet/enfield. Today we'll be at willows farm in london colney. If you can make it it would be great. If not hope to meet up with you soon.

edam · 18/08/2005 08:17

Hi Twik, welcome to MN.
I'm near St Albans but have never managed to make a meet up yet, unfortunately. There's a soft play place out towards Sandrige, I think (can't remember what it's called, helpfully). Apart from that all the clubs I go to aren't actually in St Albans itself ? will try to remember for you!

twik · 01/09/2005 19:28

Thanks for the replies! Sorry I've been so slow in replying I've been a bit under the weather plus went on a short holiday. I'll be keeping my eyes open for local meet-ups!

Twik I live in St Albans but am too shy to go to any meet-ups! How old are your children and what part of the city do you live in? I have three children, 8, 4 and 18 months. I would be happy to tell you about activities/schools if you let me know what you are after.

Ah pabla, don't be shy, only two or three of us are hairy lorry drivers, the rest are real mums!
