Hi. I haven't been on this website for ages so that's why I've only just noticed your post from three months ago! There used to be a forum for meet ups in Lincoln, but it fizzled out some time ago.

I've lived in Lincoln for three years now and although I have made some friends, I'm always looking to meet more people. I have a little girl aged 2 1/2 years and a little boy aged 21 months. If you would like to meet up some time let me know. We particularly like to go to the park. We spend a lot of time at the Surestart Childrens Centre on Birchwood Avenue.

Look forward to hearing from you.

How about Whisby some day the week beginning August 23rd? 2.30pm is a good time for us.

LouiseSJ · 25/08/2010 15:43

Hi. Sorry for late reply. I've been on holiday.

longwayfromhome - when you say Whisby do you mean the Garden Centre? They used to have an animal petting area. We used to go there a lot. I met up with a friend today who said there is now a beach there! So we're meeting there tomorrow morning at 10am.

I know it's short notice but if you see this in time and want to join us then please give me a brief description of yourself and I will look out for you. However, I note you say 2.30pm is good for you. So maybe mornings are not so good?

longwayfromhome · 25/08/2010 20:38

Oh bother - no, I'm going to the toddler group at St. Nick's on Broadway tomorrow. Otherwise we would have loved to have come.

No, I meant the natural world centre. Have you been there? (link)

It's fab, parking is a pound but the cafe is nice and cheap and the play area really great. We go there a lot ...

I'm also enjoying the cathedral at the moment with the rain (we live quite close). With my 6 pound annual pass we go most days for a bit of a walk around, play in the cloisters, cup of tea ...

Oh and the museum of Lincolnshire life is also good and free, with very cheap tea cakes although mine was a bit burnt.

Anyway ... we are off away this weekend, but back on Tuesday - Wednesday/Thursday/Friday next week any good?

LouiseSJ · 25/08/2010 22:23

Yes I can do Wednesday next week. The play area and cafe at Whisby natural world centre would be a good place to meet. I can't imagine taking my two little monsters to a museum or the cathedral. They would run around making lots of noise and knocking things over!

Sorry but 2.30pm isn't a good time for us as my two get sleepy and grumpy about that time of day. Could you do morning or straight after lunch? Or even lunch time. We could have a snack in the cafe.

longwayfromhome · 25/08/2010 22:55

Morning is OK with us. How about 10am on Wednesday?

My son naps at 11-ish but he can manage a bit longer, and then fall asleep in the car on the way home.

Sounds fab.

Anyone else around?

LouiseSJ · 31/08/2010 17:13

Yes 10am tomorrow. How about meeting in the cafe for a quick drink and then head to the play area?

I will be easy to spot. I have blonde curly hair and I have two toddlers who also have blonde curly hair.

longwayfromhome · 31/08/2010 22:13

Yes, fab, see you tomorrow in the cafe at 10. I have a blonde 2 year old who needs a hair cut and an exceedingly cute 8 month old with dark mousy brown hair.

longwayfromhome · 01/09/2010 18:05

It was lovely to meet you and your gorgeous children today, thanks again.

LouiseSJ · 02/09/2010 09:40

Yes lovely to meet you too. Sorry we seem to have lost you at the end. We went back to the sand play area.

We're now off away for a few days. What date do you return home? Maybe we could squeeze in a meet up at the park before you go?
