Just wondering if there was anyone else from round about here. If so, whether anyone would fancy a local meet-up?

WedgiesMum · 26/04/2003 21:50

I'm in chesterfield but work in Sheffield so I'm up for it.

ditsymum · 27/04/2003 10:25

Hi everyone I oud love to meet up I live in Chapeltown Sheffield

Speak to you soon

Claireandrich · 27/04/2003 19:08

Anyone one got any ideas of when, where, ect? I work Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and don't get back to Sheffield until after 4 those days. Monday mornings in term times are out too as DD has Tumble Tots then.

I can do most other times though.

Somewhere like meadowhall might be easy as it is easily accessible, but could be busy. Or one of those children's pubs so we have have a drink and the children can play.

BTW, I am 30, married, a part-time secondary school teacher. I have one DD, aged 12 months.

Chiccadum...I live in Leeds!!

Claireandrich · 28/04/2003 16:43

Could do somewhere between Sheffield and Leeds if anyone has any ideas?

OP posts:
WedgiesMum · 28/04/2003 20:08

I work Wed all day, thur all day and Fri am. Otherwise pretty amenable, I have DS aged 4 and DD aged 2, am 37 and an office manager. Don't mind travelling to wherever, have own car so could pick up another Mumsnetter with 1 child if necessary.

Don't mind where, Meadowhall does have the childrens playarea in its favour, or if its half way to Leeds is the Yorkshire Sculpture Park too far???

Chiccadum · 28/04/2003 20:24

I don't work so am free most days, Meadowhall is a bit too far for me though

WedgiesMum · 01/05/2003 10:24

Claireandrich where are you??? I know you've been around the last few days because I've seen your posts - Do you not like us any more?? Are we going to do this or what??

Claireandrich · 01/05/2003 20:10

Yes! Sorry, been caught up with one or two of the active threads in the evening and don't always get round to checking the full day's listing!

What we need to know then is:

(a) who wants to meet up?
(b) location?
(c) date and time?

So far it looks like it will have to be either Monday or Friday afternoon, or a weekend. So, who's up for a meet?

Glad you're there! Just having a paranoid moment...

I would be happy to meet up, Monday afternoons, Friday afternoons and weekends are great for me, and as I have my own transport I don't mind where really. Obviously would prefer nearer to Sheffield, but don't mind going further afield (and the offer of a lift is still there). Flexible on dates at the moment too....

ditsymum · 02/05/2003 14:07

I can do friday afternoons or a weekend. I have a car so can drive to most places. Meadowhall is ok but might be a bit busy

Let me know what is best and I will try to oblige and keep everyone happy if possible

The best idea may be to just pick a location such as the sculpture park and a time and just see who turns up

Claireandrich · 04/05/2003 12:05

No idea where sculpture park is but sounds good? Or Meadowhall? Or somewhere else - can't think, brain going slow today!

I too have a car. So, anyone what to suggest a date and time now?

Looks like it will have to be Friday afternoon or a weekend from reading down the thread.

Anyone got a good suggestions?

Sculpture Park is just off Junction 38 on the M1 - so is kind of a half way house for Leeds and Sheffield (it's signposted from the motorway).

Fri 16th, Fri23, Sat 24th or sun 25th good for me. Any takers???

Claireandrich · 04/05/2003 19:39

I can definitely do the 16th (Fri) and the 23rd.

The only reason I am not sure about the weekends later on is that I am due to move house anytime now (9 months late so far!!!) so it's difficult to have a positive.

I can make the sculptue park too as it doesn't seem that far.

OP posts:
WedgiesMum · 05/05/2003 21:55

How about the 23rd then? What time suits?? Better for me about 2 but can make it earlier at a pinch.

And how to recognise the 'meeters'.

I'm easy - two screaming monkeys in my car....

Claireandrich · 06/05/2003 20:15

2pm on the 23rd is great for me too.

Is there a main car park area or obvious meet-up place? I've not been before. I will have another little monkey along with me too - 13 month old DD.

Do you think it is worth posting these details on another meet-up thread with a definite place, date and time to see if there is anyone who has missed it (because of the Sheffield title) who would like to come?

OP posts:
WedgiesMum · 06/05/2003 21:36

I THINK that there's a car park injust inside the entrance, but will check tomorrow (when I'm at work - ho ho ho). Good idea about posting elsewhere though - do you want to do that if I put the details about the park on here tomorrow (Wed) night??

Claireandrich · 06/05/2003 21:59

Posted details under new title with date and time. Will add further information if anyone adds to it!

OP posts:
WedgiesMum · 06/05/2003 22:14

Cheers m'dear. 'speak' to you tomorrow!

WedgiesMum · 07/05/2003 13:39
