I am feeling brave today and want to get out and meet some new people, are there any MN ladies in the Gloucester area who would like to meet up?

Good idea, what time on the 10th?? If i am to bring DD it would need to be after 12.15pm. But her pre-school is 5 minutes away from Blooms so wouldn't take long to get there.

Hi everyone, Im scared and have never done this before but could I possibly come along? Im painfully shy but have a lovely 3 yr old dd and 10mnth old ds and dont really know anyone else with children. I live in Gloucester too. I will prob bottle it last minute though!

MyCatIsABiggerBastardThanYours · 29/11/2009 21:40

Hello monkeyfacegrace. It would be lovely to meet you too. It's only my third time of meeting, but I haven't been scared off yet. We're all very nice, honestly. You can always go along to blooms and see if you can spot us and if we look scary you can do some Xmas shopping instead!

My DD is 4 and my DS is 9mths so we have similar aged children although I'll only have DS with on on 10th.

I can do 10th at 2.30 (probably be a bit 2.30ish for me so I can squeeze in DS nap).

I think Im scared because Im young (well sort of, Im 22), and Ive always been a little concious that I fit the teen mum bracket, and I bet my house on the fact that my kids will be the worst behaved and I will run home crying!!
Well if you are sure its ok Im going to put it in my diary and hope for the best! Where will we meet? Im aiming for 2.30pm on the 10th Dec.
Thanks everyone, Ive really wanted some little friends for my daughter as I find motherhood quite lonely!

That post is scarily similar ladies!!!.

monkeyface- I too have a 10mth old DS and a 3yr old DD so snap!!! Love your name by the way!

See you all at 2.30ish then at Blooms........In the coffee bit by the kids play bit???

monkeyfacegrace · 29/11/2009 21:50

Ive been there before, as Im ashamed to admit that Im a fish geek breeder so I go to the Aquajardin a lot!

PatTheHammer · 29/11/2009 21:51

x-posts again!

monkeyface- I challenge the idea that your kids wll be the worst behaved.....you have yet to meet my DD .

MyCatIsABiggerBastardThanYours · 30/11/2009 20:39

Sazzles - great minds think alike (or as my rather unhelpful mother likes to say 'fools seldom differ! - I ignore her!)

monekyface - there you go then. If you don't like the look of us, you can stand us up for fish (that'll be a first for me in my history of dating ). Your age doesn't matter to us - honestly (I am positively ancient compared to you but I don have the brain of a 15yr old!).

I wont have DD with me, but I am pretty certain she would give any children a run for their money on behaviour, although now she is out of the horror that is the 3's she is much better.

Pat - Yup, around 2:30 in the kids bit. See you then.

Triggles · 06/12/2009 23:51

Just checking back to confirm - 2:30 at Blooms on 10 December? I'm getting directions there and am looking forward to it. Terrified that my 3yo will create a riot, but am planning on securing him in a pushchair and carrying the 4month old in a sling. LOL If I can manage it...

MyCatHasARedderNoseThanRudolph · 07/12/2009 11:59

Hi Triggles. I shall be there at 2.30. In fact I might be there earlier. Don't worry about your 3yr old, we've all either had one or have got one, so even if he does cause riot, none of us will be phased (been there, done that, still doing that, don't want the t-shirt but appear to have it anyway ).

See you Thursday.

Triggles · 09/12/2009 08:00

Hoping to still come, but today I've got a dreadful cold. If I still am showing symptoms tomorrow, I won't be there, as I don't want to pass my germs on to all of you and your children!

Restrainedrabbit · 09/12/2009 10:01

Boo... I have missed another meet

I also have a 3 year old DD (going on 13 at the moment! V V stroppy) and a 14mth old DS.

monkeyfacegrace · 09/12/2009 18:19

No you havent missed it yet! Its tomorrow. Triggles, dont worry on my behalf, Im full of cold too!

MyCatHasARedderNoseThanRudolph · 09/12/2009 18:34

Triggles, we're germ central at the moment in the MyCat household (colds, earache, coughs) and I and DS are still coming along (don't worry ladies, I'm not too yuk and DS is fine).

See you tomorrow.

PatTheHammer · 09/12/2009 20:35

I will be there.....and a picture of health compared to you lot by the sounds of it (although DS is snotty and teething but thats par for the course!).

Come along rabbit, It's a stroppy DD outing don't you know, lets hope they all bugger off into the grotto or something and leave us in peace

SazzlesOnASled · 09/12/2009 20:44

Just checking in - i'll be there too . I have to now swap DD2 for DD1 at the CM at 2.15 in Brockworth, so 2.30 should be fine.
My childminder pleaded with me to have DD1 in the morning as she can answer Ofsted's questions (she has an inspection tomorrow). Personally i would have chosen DD2 who can only say 'door', 'wrap' and 'cat', but she is clearly bonkers and wants my 3year old to engage in conversation with an inspector . Good luck, i say

Triggles · 10/12/2009 12:16

AaarrrrgggghhhH! Was still contemplating it, and now DS (3yo) is ill too. And incredibly crabby with it! Let's just say I'm hoping he will be taking a nap, as I can't listen to this all day. He is normally such a happy kid, but not right now. And our adult DD (23yo) is moving out this weekend with her 3yo DS (our DGS), so the house is in a total uproar, as she found out about the availability of a flat yesterday and is able to move in Monday. She's being reimbursed £150 to do the painting needed herself, which we all know means Mum & Dad help, right? So she and DH are at the flat now, measuring rooms for paint and carpet remnants, windows for curtains, and the kitchen for a cooker and fridge/freezer. (Slight note - I am soooo jealous that she has a huge locked shed in a massive fenced in rear garden that goes along with her lovely flat! ) It'll be so nice to have our house back to ourselves and DS2 & DS3, but oh my the uproar today - and most likely the rest of the weekend! So DH, DS2 and I are ill with colds/chest infections, I'm trying NOT to pass it on to DS3, and we're trying to help DD move. Nothing like a resting when you're ill. Is wine considered medicinal??

As you can probably tell from my rant, I won't be there today. Wish I could, but everything is chaos here, and I think the icing on the cake would be the guilt I would feel if I passed my nasty cold on to anyone else there! So have a good time, and hopefully we can arrange another one sometime soon and I can attend.

MyCatHasARedderNoseThanRudolph · 10/12/2009 19:27

Pat and Sazz - lovely to see you today (and you two looking very well, I must say). I thought our DC behaved themselves pretty well too.

Triggles - shame you couldn't make it, but I have no doubt we'll meet up again. Good news for your DD and the flat, not good news about poorly DS (hope he's well soon), DH (him too) and you (you as well )

monkeyfacegrace - sorry we didn't see you today. Hope your cold gets better soon

take care ladies, have a lovely Christmas and see you around MN soon no doubt.

monkeyfacegrace · 10/12/2009 21:46

Hey all,
No rubbish excuses here, to be honest I have PND (on Citalopram) and just had a down day. If it wasnt a first time for me I would still have come, but wasnt feeling too brave while deflated.
Feeling a bit better now hubbys home though and am gutted to have missed it

MyCatHasARedderNoseThanRudolph · 10/12/2009 23:01

oh monkeyfacegrace - that's a shame. I had PND with DD and it stinks. I did find one of the best things was to get out when I could (in fact that was probably THE best thing for me) but I completely understand that you didn't feel up to it today. I hope you feel able to come next time. It will be lovely to meet you.
