Thought I'd start it.

Had such a fab time and would love to do it soon! When can everyone get away?

I can do most weekends, and would be quite happy to put up one or two people or the night.

Who's up for it then???????

Also if I don't get another job soon I'll be pretty skint too

When are you thinking of going to Blackpool? Summer?

WedgiesMum · 24/04/2005 20:21

Summer or half term

katzguk · 25/04/2005 08:58

i'm hopefully going in July with my sister when she comes over

Hulababy · 25/04/2005 09:00

It's fab

Frizbe · 25/04/2005 09:35

Hi all, Hula pointed me in this direction! I'd love to come this time, and I can do 4/5th June also so if you agree on that date, I shall be there too!

clary · 25/04/2005 10:37

Hiya all
Yes it was me who nipped out early, sorry Roisin, you were at the other end of the table. I just didn?t want to drive out of Sheffield in the dark iyswim. But fab directions from hula and katz meant that I got to the M1 no probs and was home in less than an hour.
What a lovely lovely day. I especially enjoyed the Spa which I which I thought was fantastic, so relaxed and easy going and good value.
How brill to meet you all too and put faces to names as it were. Now I?ve got loads of questions...
like, Wedgiesmum, were your friend?s twins boys or girls? And keep us updated on yr ds.
And, katzguk, watching birth announcements with interest.
And Roisin, let us know how your visit to secondary school went! I am very interested in your plans... (wedgiesmum as well).
Now as to the Spa, I can do 4/5 June, 11 June (not 12 june as ds2 christening), not 18 june as have plans but could do 19 june, not 25 june as Ds1/dd b/day party but cd do 26 june (may need to to recover from b/day party as well!!!). Whew, sorry to be so complicated!
First half of July is another possibility for me

MadameButterfly · 25/04/2005 10:41

HI all I wouls love to go again.

I can't do 4/5 JUne as we are away at our caravan then.

Could possibly do 12th or 18th though.
The sunday would suit my friend best as she works saturdays but not sundays.

piffle · 25/04/2005 11:58

I'm pretty free as nothing holiday like booked as yet. We are horribly disorganised like that!
Umm we are away 11/12 June for work summer ball in Oxford.
I think that's about it really!
Any firm plans on what we'll do. With kids and dh's or without either?
Day or evening
Crikey bit of a nightmare putting faces to names when you get back...
Ummmmm

Hulababy · 25/04/2005 22:21

Don't forget - the Spa gets very booked up quickly, esp weekends. We need to book asap really.

Saturdays are ladies only and is open 9am to 8pm
Sundays are mixed sessions, open 10am to 6pm.

3 hours = £20

If you fancy trying some of the Spa plus packages there is:

Spa Experience PLUS Original 1877 Scrub (15 mins) = £30
Spa Experince PLUS Mont Saint Michel Mud Wrap (45mons) = £45
Spa Experience PLUS blow dry (in Salon downstairs) = £40

Or you can use one of their vanity kit bags with sample bags of products to use the Spa and at home:

Spa Exerience PLUS Anti Aging Facial Kit = £25
Spa Experience PLUS Slimming Body Kit = £25

dottee · 26/04/2005 09:16

Keeping a watch on this thread - when you've decided on a date, I try and join you.

Was with you lot in thought on Saturday.

Hulababy · 26/04/2005 21:11

FOR ALL THE PEOPLE WHO CAME TO THE SPA ON SATURDAY:

There is no need to panic or worry, at all I promise but... I found out today that viral menegitus is going round the staff at the prison. So far we have one case confirmed in hospital, but several others who has had identical symptoms or are currently having them. This is VIRAL not bacterial. It is like really bad flu. It is not life threatening generally in the average person. It has no precautionary medication. And it is easily treatable with antibiotics, and fluid/rest/etc.

Now I am pretty fine myself. I have a cold - but certainly nothing worse. However, it is possible that I could get it (been in close contact with the people who have had/have it). However - the important info for you lot...

Even if I was carrying it and passed it on, you would not get full blown virus meningitus. It'd be more like a cold virus that was passed on. It seems to get diluted as it is carried and passed on.

I do think it is wise to let you all know though.

katzguk · 26/04/2005 21:35

hi hula

sorry to here this, can you keep me posted, especailly if you do come down with it. have had a quiic search on line and found this:

if a pregnant woman becomes infected a few days before the baby is delivered, the newborn baby is at risk of severe illness .

according to NHS direct the incubation period is upto 3 weeks which would take me to 37 weeks pg when DD was born, will phone my midwife and check

So it's £20 for 3 hours then?

I would like to go but June is a busy month for us. I'll see if I can make it.
