Hi Zubb. Did you stay in Crowboro long? I assume your parents are still here. I moved here when my ds was 6mths and dont have any family here. Where are you living now?

Hi elliedragon, yes I lived there for a while. Parents are still there, and my grandmother so I pop back every now and again. Don't think I know anyone there now though, and don't have a clue about anything for kids.
When we go back we tend to go to the park at the leisure centre as Ds1 (3) loves it there, or we walk on the golf course, or up on the forest.
I have two boys - 3 and 1, and another due in September, but we're in Wiltshire now.

You are a brave woman having 3 under 5. Do you have any backup help? I am thinking about having a 3rd, cant decide.

hey, sorry to jump in here, but we're heading towards crowborough for easter (rotherfield, to be precise).
just wondered if you had any tips for ace things to do with kids around there. mine are under 4.
oh, and any pointers on nice yet childfriendly pubs with big gardens?

Elliedragon, we have no family near, Crowborough is about 2 hours away, and PIL are a couple of hours away as well. Should be challenging! I didn't find 2 that hard tbh and am ever the optimist and think 3 will bve fine!
Bakedpotato - the Bluebell Railway is good, I'll try and find a link, or there's the Bentley wildfowl place on the way to Brighton - cars and wildlife walks - ds1 loved both of these last year when he stayed with my parents.
And there's always Eastbourne with all the attractions of the traditional seaside, it's quite an easy ride from Rotherfield.
There are some castles nearish - Hever, Bodiam - depending on how far you want to go, and Penshurst Place and Batemans.
As for pubs I'm not too sure - will have a think for you.

Hi bakedpotato. There is a small park near the village hall in Rotherfield which is good, or the one at Leisure Centre in Crowborough. Bewl Water Resevoir good for a walk. Indoor play area at bells yew green. Not been too successful with pubs. The pub in Rotherfield has a sign up saying - only if well behaved - puts you off from the start although we have never been thrown out for misbehaviour! Have a good time. Where are you coming from?
