Hi, good to hear from you Simone. Was beginning to think I was on my own here in Woking. Do you fancy meeting up? I'd like to meet new people and so would my sons.

Have you ever tried Rainbow Tots in Knaphill? If you'd like to try meeting on a Friday morning, we can do 6th and 13th June. Alternatively we're free Thursday mornings or any afternoon. Obviously I don't want to give my personal details out on the thread but I'll CAT you.

Hi RiojaLover75 and Sim78

We're moving to Woking in the next couple of months. Currently selling our flat in Middx and hoping to rent something in or around Woking. Don't know the area at all so I wonder if you can recommend any play groups/toddler groups - I've made a note of the one you mention in Knaphill, any others?

My DD is 19 months and number two is due in Sept (fingers crossed we move before baby arrives!).

Would be great to get some info from local mums and to meet up once we're down there.

TIA

RiojaLover75 · 12/06/2008 21:57

Hello Possumagic! There are a few playgroups I know of that I can list here, I could always pick up a copy of a massive list of local groups for you too. It really depends which area of Woking you're planning to move to. It might be easier to CAT me with your address and I can post the list to you.

Do you need any other info about the area?

Thanks RiojaLover75, that's kind of you. I will send you my email through CAT.

SIM78 · 13/06/2008 20:29

Hi Tia
Nice to see that there are more mums coming joingin me and Riojalover75 in Woking. I moved to woking from Middlesex about 4 yrs ago. Its a lovely place to live compared to where I was living.
I go to a Toddler group at St Dunstans Catholic Church quite a mixed group of mums and all are quite friendl on Thursday morning at 10-12 and one on Tuesdays at St Pauls Church both not far from the train station they are within walking distance. Let me know where abouts your moving to i can give you an idea of the area.
Simone

Possumagic · 16/06/2008 11:32

Thanks Simone for letting me know about those toddler groups. We've been looking at houses in Horsell and areas close to the train station. We were down at the weekend and had a drive around Woking so I've got a bit more of an idea of where things are (think we passed St Dunstans at one point).

Interesting that you also moved from Middx! Whereabouts were you? We have friends in Horsell (yet to start a family hence the lack of child-related info) who have done a good job of convincing us to move there so I'm glad you also think it's a lovely place to be.

SIM78 · 17/06/2008 12:20

Hi Tia,
I used to live in Heston it wasnt that bad just under the flight path.
Horsell is a really nice place it has a nice park which isnt far from the high street and lovely houses.
St Dunstans is not that far if you cut throught the high street to get to it.
Hopefull you will settle in well. Wokin is very family friendly I think there are load of mums and kiddies and things to do. If you lay your hands on a local free mag call the Grapevine it has everything in it. I use it quite alot. If you need a copy let me know.

You wouldnt happen to be an Australian by origin by any chance.

Simone

Possumagic · 19/06/2008 09:40

Arghhh! The stress of moving! Our buyer has pulled out just as we were about to exchange. And we'd just found a lovely place to rent.

I knew there was a large possibility of it happening with the housing market being the way it is at the moment, but it's still a major pain when it happens to you. I think we're more gutted about losing out on the rental property than losing our buyer - must get things into perspective.

Fingers crossed there is still someone out there willing to buy.

SIM78 - DH is the aussie.

SIM78 · 03/07/2008 07:51

Sorry to hear about the house hope your luck improves

littleboyblue · 03/07/2008 07:55

Hi. We live in Woking, just for another week though as we are off to Middlesex next week. Might be able to pop along somewhere and say hello if it before next weekend

Possumagic · 27/07/2008 12:12

Hooray! We sold our flat and have made the move to Woking after all.

Sim78 - do you know where I can get a copy of Grapevine? From the library perhaps? I presume a lot of groups are closed for the school hols now but would be good to see what's around in Sept.

Thanks

RiojaLover75 · 20/12/2008 19:32
