Setting up a singles 'meet up' face to face

I'm in my 50s and single. I loathe online dating and would like to meet single people locally (Kent / East Sussex area)

I'm thinking about setting up a drinks do in a local bar in the town where I live. Advertising on Facebook and word of mouth for anyone aged 40 to 60.

Has anyone done this? I don't know how to manage numbers and would presumably need to reserve a space somewhere. I'd also need people to confirm to me whether they are coming.

Any thoughts welcome 🙏

I think this sounds like a fab idea!

I guess something you may need to consider is that some places may require a deposit for you to reserve an area for such numbers.

Yes that's what worries me. I'll need to know numbers and don't know how to ensure I get commitment!
