Hi everyone! I am a newbie to this site and am already finding it rather addictive. I am 33 and mum of 3 (10, 6 & 8 months). Thought it might be nice to put faces to a few of the names. Any one fancy meeting up?

Bump up, yes please when is the next one????? I'm near sunbury in Ashford....

anorak · 08/02/2005 23:38

I'd be interested for next time. I will try and get my cousin kimi (who is an intermittent mner) interested.

I'll look out for a new thread on this.

Hi all
I am another newbie to this site and live in Staines too. Would love to meet up with other mums especially as my social life is non-existent. Do work full time but have friday pms off and am often having to amuse ourselves at weekends as DH works. DS is 2.5 years and full of beans as most toddlers are!

Would love to know if you are meeting up again in the area soon?

Hazel

I'm still up for a GNO in Staines

Uwila · 17/02/2005 11:44

Hi Hazel (and everyone else),
I'm in Sunbury and also work full time. So evenings and weekends are my only options. The last one never happened. But, I'm game for an after work dinner (or whatever). No all night boozing for me because I'm 25 weeks pregnant. I've never actually ventured over to Staines, but I'd be glad to do so.

Ameriscot2005 · 17/02/2005 11:47

You've never been to Staines? It's a great place for eating out - tons of restuarants.

Maybe we could meet up at Nandos? Outback is good for groups, but pricey (I don't mind but wouldn't want to impose).

Uwila · 17/02/2005 15:35

What's pricey? What is Outback? Sounds like Australian stekhouse... which sounds delicious.

Ameriscot2005 · 17/02/2005 15:39

Outback Steakhouse - the American restaurant with the Australian theme.

Yeah, it's a bit pricey. DH & I went there last week and dumped £50 - but I did have the Victoria Fillet, yum! I'm sure you could get in and out for £15 though.

It's a 5 minute walk from my house so very much up for it

hazel1975 · 17/02/2005 16:33

Not been to Outback yet but heard good things about it. Ha Ha Bar is expensive and was not that impressed with Baroosh.

Do like Mama Mias across the road from Pizza Express and not yet been to Nandos, so am pretty much up for anything!

Hi Cassie! Didnt realise you posted on here too!

Ameriscot2005 · 17/02/2005 16:38

Mamma Mia is good too - also staggering distance

Uwila · 17/02/2005 17:08

Yeah, I get around.

I haven't been to Outback since I lived in Houston, so I would vote for that. But, if other would prefer somewhere else that would be okay too. Although, I would prefer to avoid a smokey bar scene. (not that we are discussing one)

survivour · 18/02/2005 12:29

ok, sounds like there is enough people on here for a meet-up, day time is best for me as I only have one DS 2.5 years with me, and don't like leaving him anywhere. Staines then??? Like Nando's, let me know what you all think, Wednesdays are mother and toddler group, but I don't mind as we are flexible.....

Uwila · 18/02/2005 13:40

I can only come after work... say 7:00 or later. But, if other prefer to go for daytime / toddlers included, feel free to go ahead without me.

Ameriscot2005 · 18/02/2005 13:43

We can have more than one event

Ameriscot2005 · 18/02/2005 13:44

Lunch Mondays are best with me. Could wangle things to make it Wednesday or Thursday too.

Evenings in general are OK, but need decent notice.

hazel1975 · 18/02/2005 14:00

can do friday pms or evenings plus weekends as work the rest of the time, but am happy for 2 events!

for the evening one, I vote for Mon. Tues. or Wed. evening. Does that suit others?

Hi
Do any of you take your kids to Runneymede play area. Would love to meet you there.

Ameriscot2005 · 18/02/2005 14:41

Don't normally, but can do, Network. Are you in Egham?

network · 18/02/2005 16:56

Hi Ameriscot2005

No I'm in Slough But Runneymede is only 10min drive from me

survivour · 21/02/2005 00:05

Runnymead?? where abouts is that??? I don't mind driving...

network · 21/02/2005 13:51

Hi
a308 Windsor road. Near Staines, there is a play area for children that is open all year round. Parking 1.80 for 2 hours. Place to have coffee, feed the ducks etc.

survivour · 23/02/2005 21:23

Network, that sound great, shall we wait until after the snow, or does anyone want to go out and enjoy it, but I have to be carefull with my little one he is a heart baby so I have to be carefull with cold weather, as long as there is somewhere to warm up afterwards, I think we will be ok.

network · 24/02/2005 14:37

Hi Survivour
It does get a bit windy there because its open and by the river. The cafe is not enclosed so i feel you have to be a bit robust sometimes, but its lovely in the summer as they then put up the bouncy castle(expensive though) and other bits for the children and they have a splash pool area by the river for when it gets really hot. the kids love it.
