Anyone living/working in or near the City fancy meeting up for lunch again soon? It seems a while since we had a City lunch.

Just to get the ball rolling - how about Thursday 8 May?

We can hear all about the new job
That date looks OK to me, thanks
I think BK's access to IT is a bit sporadic at the mo so I'll text her

SixSpotBurnet · 17/04/2008 11:51

Thanks marina .

Can I come? Am in Farringdon St now and May 8th would be just fine...

SixSpotBurnet · 17/04/2008 11:54

Absolutely, Kewcumber - it would be fab to see you again and hear more about your gorgeous boy!

OP posts:
Kewcumber · 17/04/2008 11:55

who were you before (pesky namechangers!)

SixSpotBurnet · 17/04/2008 12:00

How did you know I was a namechanger.

Citronella · 17/04/2008 12:00

I can do it! I can do it! It's in the calendar already and look forward to meeting you.

SixSpotBurnet · 17/04/2008 12:02

All suggestions re venue gratefully received, but suggest that somewhere near Barbican might be a good meeting point?

might work for me too can get the bus!

Bink · 17/04/2008 12:05

8 May looks good [usual dreary caveats about possibly not making it on day sort of thing]

Sort of bonkers suggestion, maybe, but SSB do you remember that link you sent me to a particular bookshop near your new job? Well I saw its proprietrix (which I think she would prefer to "proprietress") at w/e and she said why didn't we have a lunch & introduce her to you all? Maybe that could be separate event, though.

Bink · 17/04/2008 12:06

How about Carnevale on Whitecross St? - always thought it was just waiting for an MN get-together. We could just about take it over!

frogs · 17/04/2008 12:10

Might get a taxi down with my crutches if I'm feeling up to it -- can I be a maybe? Carnevale is nice.

SixSpotBurnet · 17/04/2008 12:10

Wow - MrsClinton - we'd be honoured - I guess you may not have much to do by 8 May?

Bink - Carnevale is a very good suggestion - and I would love to meet her - but that might be best as a separate event, I agree.

SixSpotBurnet · 17/04/2008 12:11

frogs - of course! Just don't cycle, eh?

OP posts:
MrsClinton · 17/04/2008 12:12

I have impt jobs obviously, even if it doesn't turn out to be Running the Country..

frogs · 17/04/2008 12:12

That was in poor taste, SSB.

SixSpotBurnet · 17/04/2008 12:14

sorry, miss

OP posts:
Kewcumber · 17/04/2008 12:14

that location is a bit difficult for me, I'm supposed to only have 30 mins for lunch - can stretch to an hour but I guess it would take me 20 mins to walk there?

I either need somewhere right near a tube or 10 min from me so barbican would be fine but not too far east of Barbican. Unless anyone knows if there is a bus which goes from Farringdon st there?

I'll go look it up on TFL

SixSpotBurnet · 17/04/2008 12:27

Kewcumber - do you want to suggest somewhere that is convenient for you? at only half an hour for lunch!

OP posts:
marina · 17/04/2008 12:35

Same here sixspot. 30 mins officially, so "save up" in order to be allowed out for more than that
Am happy with Carnevale or anything else Kew might prefer, but do need to stay fairly local to EC2

Hope you can make it Frogs

SixSpotBurnet · 17/04/2008 12:39

Okay, over to you Kewcumber but with proviso that it needs to be close to EC2.

frogs · 17/04/2008 19:34

Who is Mrs Clinton? Confused

My mobility should be fine as long as my taxi turns up.

MrsObama · 17/04/2008 23:24

can report (in my new persona) that frogs is mobile! yipeee!
