I live just North of Shrewsbury and my Village and the one next to it have good mother and toddler groups. Where are you?

My DSs are 7 and 5 and at school so a bit older than yours by the sound of it.

LOL re: signs of life. I know what you mean (we moved from London)

lulumama · 08/04/2008 11:16

nice one katie !

isn't Lissie in shropshire?

stealthsquiggle · 08/04/2008 11:20

Lissie is in Telford - give her a shout (or drop in to the Tea Shop thread in chat when it appears). I know she goes to Shrewsbury sometimes, cos she said so when I saw her (in RL, no less) yesterday .

katierocket · 08/04/2008 11:20

I'm in Leighton (near Welshpool), abotu 20 mins from shrewsbury. possibly too far from you Joss but not sure?

my DSs are 6 and 15 months.

Thanks lulu . Lissie? (god I used to know pretty much every mumsnetter but these days I just don't get the time to post as much)

about 10 years now (on and off) lived in shrewsbury for a while too. Im originally from much wenlock though, so a shropshire girl through and through. it must be a bit of a shock for you?

katierocket · 08/04/2008 15:45

indeed! It is a shock
this will explain more!

OracleInaCoracle · 08/04/2008 15:54

oh dear, you do seem to be struggling. what days do you work? I have mondays off college so could meet you in shrewsbury for the day if yolu like, joss lives quite close too, there is also mygirllollipop and gothicmama. if you can get to telford I go to Roaries which is a softplay area a lot with a couple of other mums, ikwym about finding friends ds is 3 at the end of the month and it was a real shock coming from having lots of work mates to not liking any of the other mums at the m&t group

JossStick · 08/04/2008 16:08

We moved to Telford 10 yrs ago from London and then onto the village we are in now. At first we enjoyed London but it can get you down and we are both bumpkins at heart.

I didn't really know anyone in the village until DS1 started at the preschool. Now i feel as if i know everyone and their extended families, pets etc.

This is not always necessarily a good thing .

katierocket · 08/04/2008 16:34

I guess there is just less to choose from in a small place so less likelihood that you will find a kindred spirit IFYKWIM. I'm sure it will come right in the end (well I hope so anyway). Would be good to have a meet up. I usually have either tuesday or thursdays off. what are you studying at college? [nosey emoticon]

OP posts:
JossStick · 08/04/2008 16:43

Can't remember exactly what Lissie studies - Homeopathy or similar. No dounbt she'll be along to let us know.

I work from home as an artist / illustrator.

What do you do?

JossStick · 08/04/2008 16:43

(apologises in advance to Lissie if i've got that wrong)

katierocket · 08/04/2008 16:54

self employed PR consultant, i work from home too.

i study holistic therapies (so not far off joss) and i have 1/2 term coming up so could do a tues/thurs meet up then!

katierocket · 08/04/2008 17:21

sounds good, I'm very normal

OP posts:
OracleInaCoracle · 08/04/2008 17:24

so am i!

katierocket · 08/04/2008 18:28

LOL, round here cloven feet are probably fairly standard....

OP posts:
stealthsquiggle · 08/04/2008 18:32

The only thing abnormal I noticed about Lissie was an encyclopedic knowledge of Disney Cars - DS was deeply impressed

OracleInaCoracle · 08/04/2008 18:38

pmsl, youre lucky i didnt get started on trains. I would rival george stephenson for attention to detail!

crackpotdog · 24/04/2008 20:14
