I see you left this message a few weeks ago but I've just come across it! I'm in Derby - there doesn't seem to be too many Derby mums on mumsnet ...

Veggiemummy · 02/07/2008 16:44

hello not sure if your still checking this but i am in Derby i moved here from London in feb and don't know many people. I have 1 DS and one on the way (16weeks) wish i could NCT again up here so i could meet another group of mums.

avenanap · 02/07/2008 16:50

It's because we're on the local bit!

I'm a Derby mum, as is Jes. We're around. Honest!

Veggiemummy · 02/07/2008 17:02

oh hello i didnt expect to hear from anyone you must be lurking around, what do you mean by local bit? sorry to sound a bit thick.

avenanap · 02/07/2008 17:08

Go to the topics bit at the top, then scroll down to mumsnet Local. There's a bit of derby stuff on there. There isn't many of us around though. Jes is nice. She's got a houseful of munchkins, I have 1, he's 9. You must be missing London. There's so much to do down there. Derby's not so bad. Where about are you?

thanks Avenanap, i do like it here, just don't know many people, it was kind of a snap decision to move here, we bought an investment property up here and then decided to move here, so the house is not necessarily where would have chosen to live and a bit small for us 3 and impending arrival. We are near Abbey Rd near Friar gate (sorry don't know the name of the area) but it is close (drivable) to markeaton park which we love and also close to a little montessori nursery my son is going to 3 half days a week. I'm a sahm and DH works away a lot so am quite up for a meet up.

You're near us. We live off Ashbourne Road. I'm a third year paediatric nurse, I'm taking a break at the moment but am supposto go back in October. I'm going out on Friday for a drink or two with a couple of friends. You are welcome to come along. They are a nice bunch. My son breaks up from school on Friday so my days will be full of entertaining after then!

avenanap · 02/07/2008 17:46

I'm being nagged for the laptop so shall be around later (after 9) if you wanted a chat.

Veggiemummy · 02/07/2008 17:53

I'm around when ds hasn't hogged the computer. He's off for 6 weeks until the end of August (Oh joy!), it was 8 weeks for his hols last year so this is much of an improvement.

Can do coffee though.
