Hi I'm new to Mumsnet. I've been working in Paris for the last 3 years and have just moved back to England with DH and DS who is 7 1/2 months old. We're living in Wanstead and I don't know anyone round here as I'm originally from SW London. I've given up my job to look after DS full time.

Does anyone fancy meeting up? Or just chatting?

Hi, PtC, I am a sahm living in Romford with a dd aged 4 yo and a ds aged 2 yo. Welcome to Mumsnet. How long have you been back in the UK?

Hi Sozie,
Thanks. We moved at the end of October, so we've been here about 6 weeks. Looking forward to and English Christmas...I do love France and especially Paris, but have been missing England a bit, not to mention my friends, all of whom seem to be having babies in the next couple of months.

How about you, have you always lived in Romford?

We have lived in our current house for about 4 years but prior to that lived in Goodmayes, near Ilford. I was born in the area and try as I might have failed to leave it . What made you move to Wanstead instead of back to SW London?

DH has his property business in Stratford and is expanding from there so we thought Wanstead was a good base. The commute from SW London would be a nightmare and he'd end up never seeing DS during the week. Also it's a lot lot cheaper!

All my mates who've made it up here from the other side of London agree that it's lovely here albeit bloomin miles away LOL.
