Don't be daft!! Loads of Dads on here!

Love the name!

Sorry, can't help with your query though - hope someone comes along soon. Will try and bump it up again tomorrow as people will be off to bed now!

Not in diss are at all but just thought I'd say welcome to mn and don't worry about 'gate crashing' as a man... there's a heading called 'lone parents' so you'll fit just fine and as far as I know there are a few dads on mn

flopseybunny · 29/11/2004 23:34

where exactly is Diss?, welcome to mumsnet by the way.

Hi, romantick - I think this thread might help you - Is Diss it? (it's been around for a while, the title always makes me smile!)

throckenholt · 30/11/2004 09:26

have a look at the presma website www.presma.org/ - I know they do sessions in Diss but can't remember what days.

And welcome - although it is mumsnet it is for all parents and carers.

Flopseybunny - Diss is on the Norfolk/Suffolk border about 15 miles south of Norwich.

romantick - I live in Diss but my dd is only 7 months so toddler groups are a bit old for her.

I know there is tumbletots at the Youth Centre on Shelfanger Road but don't know when these take place. I sometimes go to musicbabies which is for babies under a year but they also run a group for toddlers. If you go to St Mary's Church hall (opposite HSBC) on Monday just before 11.00am, the lady who organises it is around and will be able to give you details.

Do you go to the HV clinic at Parish Fields practice on Fridays? They have a list of toddler/baby groups, might have something in there.

Good luck!

Hi, I too live in Diss.
I know of two toddler groups on Tuesdays but they may be a little young for your ds. The first is the Edward Bear Club at St Mary's Church Hall at 9.30 - 11am. The majority of the children are toddlers but there are some older children who come with their siblings (but too young for school).
Also there is one at DC3 (Diss Christian Community Centre on Vinces Road) which I think starts at 10am. Haven't been for a while though so I don't know the age of children there - probably toddlers again.
I think your best bet would be Tumbletots (like Willowsmum said) on Shelfanger Road in the Youth and Community Centre. I think the session for your ds's age is about 12 or 1pm. Go here for more information.
Hth!

throckenholt · 30/11/2004 13:49

also try ringing the health visitor - they should have a list of playgroups etc.

Willowmum · 30/11/2004 19:27

I've found some phone numbers which may be useful, tumbletots 01603 716745 and Presma (run the toddler music group) 01603 628626.
